The place is closed. It was sold by the city to private developers who are repurposing/remodeling it. The websites had not been updated & so they DID NOT include this important information. We drove across town & found downtown parking, only to discover that there was nothing to see or do there .

This is a nice tourist spot. When I first visited Atlanta this place was recommended by a friend. We walked around and there are nice shops to visit and restaurants to grab a snack and a bite or a drink around there. It is usually pretty crowded but that is to be expected with a popular tourist spot. Not that we live in ATL I still visit every now and then. It will always be a special place for our family. Go during the day time and you may see some popular people. I once saw Usher Raymond there. That was cool.

What the heck have they done. This place is a ghost town. I come back after 5 years and it's all ran down. I'm so disappointed. I hope they empower this place. I gave 3 stars because well. I'm not from there but FOREVER I LOVE ATLANTA.

Forever I LOVE Atlanta!!!!! My family and I had a blast, over the weekend.we alwalys have a good time The people in Atlanta are all awesome to me . it just depends on who you're looking at in the South most of us always have a little smile on my face anyways .. I guess it all goes back to treat people like you want to be treated . I treat people with respect and when I leave Atlanta I have memories my photos to show it all and I always have a awesome time !! This weekend we were at the masquerade and we watched the Dead Daisies perform livethey rocked it Out..The Atlanta police were down there watching out and protecting -serving for us.. I've always loved Atlanta and I always will❣️

I use to work at Bonnie's , and Lady skill , one of those body oil kiosk , and she boutique . Y'all Koreans something else . Very competitive and rich . Hard working too . But ya know I wish y'all clothes would keep out the cold and keep in the warmth this year . Shout out to Kevin and the other fine Korean man . And Susan . I will always love the underground , going to miss the classic part about it .

Whenever I am visiting Atlanta I love to visit this place. Lots of history and shopping. I alway enjoy my experience. The last time I was there was January 2014.

I think they are trying to build this area up again. The Masquerade is there now but it's still on the sketchy side. We felt on edge leaving and trying to find a place to eat while there. The venue building itself was nice (we were in hell).

It was sad to see how the area is rundown. I used to go to the Underground years ago and I really enjoyed the area. I was told when I was there, in May that it was going to be closed to be renovated. I have no idea whether its finished yet. In May it was supposed to close up in 2 weeks for the renovations. I don't know how long it was supposed to be closed. The merchants I talked to had mixed emotions about the renovations and closing.
As I walked the streets of the Underground it looked like a ghost town. There was barely anyone down there, except the merchants. My daughter lives outside of Atlanta and had warned me about the conditions. However I wanted my husband to see the Underground, since its historic. I hasn't been there in 17 years. I couldn't believe how the area had changed. I had told my husband about it from my visits and what a shock. Most of the stores were closed, with a few vendors on the street area.
Hopefully the new renovations will help bring people back to this part of Atlanta's history.response / report this review -

I never feel safe here. Essentially an abandoned multilevel retail and dining complex in downtown Atlanta that now houses Masquerade music spaces. Can never find direct access to Masquerade and end up meandering alone through vacant spaces hardly seeing a soul unless it's Atlanta PD. Very uncomfortable here. I've had Uber and Lyft drivers unwilling to drop me off because they worried for my safety (hey, me too!). I still go as Masquerade has smaller indie acts other venues do not get. I bet visiting music artists get a negative impression of our city once they've played here.

You can not just sit outside and enjoy the fresh air anymore. Security harasses you and tells you that in 30 minutes you have to move. Why have music playing outside if a person can't sit and enjoy it???!!!! They shutdown the water fall out front. There are barely any stores inside or outside anymore. The ones that are uber expensive!! And what they are selling is not worth the money. Underground is not the fun destination it used to be. I was so disappointed. Do not plan to visit again anytime soon.👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Underground used to be packed and vibrant with mom and pop shops, bars, and ppl everywhere. No there are about 10 shops 3 footlocker and all of it is run down. The food court has 3 choices and they all sucks. Sad to see what it has become. Does connect to MARTA gold line.

Sadly this place looked to be terrific. Now most of the stores are empty. Very sad. Cool place and very creative use of space. Would be neat to see it rejuvenated

I think this used to be a really cool place, but now it's just run down and sad. Half of the shops are closed and the entire place is in a state of disrepair. The shops that are open seem to be novelty more than anything else. I've heard there are plans to redevelop the area and renovate the Underground. I hope they do because I think it could be a cool place, it's just not anymore.
