Tyson Motors (especially the service department) has truly disappointed me the last two times I’ve been a customer with them. When I called to make an appt. for an oil change/tire rotation in September, I was told they don’t take appts. for those services and I would have to go through the “walk in” line. I really didnt want to risk waiting too long, but I complied with their instructions and went through the walk in line any way. I was told it would take 45 mins (no big deal), but it ended up taking 1.5 hours, with no explanation as to what the hold up was. Fast forward to this past Saturday, and my 3 year old Jeep wouldn’t start. The battery wouldn’t hold a charge on its own, even after jumping it several times, so I ended up towing it to Tyson and leaving it for the rest of the weekend for the service team to look at on Monday morning. By Tuesday evening, I still hadn’t received a final diagnosis, and I had called three times and left two voicemails for my technician that day. Finally, my husband was able to get through to him right before he left Tuesday night to find out all that needed to be replaced was the battery. We waited two full days to learn it was the battery? And then they weren’t going to change it out until the following day! I was without a car for three days because they were “too busy” to change out the battery. If they only knew how inconvenient this was for my family to help me get to/from work and misc. appts. They didn’t offer a rental car either until Tuesday night in which I wasn’t able to get to the dealer in time to pick it up because I work until 5:00. I was a huge fan of this dealership when I bought the Jeep three years ago and sang their praises, but now I don’t know if I would consider buying from them again based on their service department. It takes a lot of frustration for me to write a poor review for a business, as I am usually an understanding customer. I hope they take feedback like this seriously and implement some changes as soon as possible.
Went in for brakes and airbag recall. Got the wrangler back with the dash not fully clipped. Had to take it back but they apologized and fixed it fast. I will go back. Still better than Toyota forgetting to pour oil in the engine while doing an oil change. Lol
I purchased a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Tysons. Great staff. Isaac Stiegler was extremely professional and got me the exact deal AND vehicle I was looking for. If you are looking for a Jeep or Chrysler stop by Tyson and ask for Isaac.
After shopping online for several weeks, sending emails to multiple dealers & not getting the answers or exact vehicle information I wanted, visiting another dealership for my test drive to be treated like an idiot, I can honestly say that J.R. went above & beyond to help me find/get into the vehicle I was looking for. He made it easy on me & did all the "leg work" and spoke with his manager to get me the best deal possible before I even got to the dealership. I have purchased and leased many vehicles in my lifetime and no one ever worked this hard to build a customer relationship as J.R. did. And Steve Klimara in the Finance Office was great as well. He's super friendly & had all of the paperwork ready to go before I got in his office--no game playing or fudging with the numbers--just a straight up guy that wanted to save me some time. Thank you J.R. and Steve for making this a great experience!!! Don't hesitate to check out Tyson Motors & ask for J.R. & Steve--you'll be happy you did! Trust me.
Except for constant long wait for oil change. I have always bought cars here. Hassle free and friendly people
@ Emisael Ortega. We have searched our data base and we don't have record of your name on file. There is no contact information based on your review. If you could please contact us so we can assist you, we would greatly appreciate it. Please ask for a Service Manager. Thank you!
I feel it is important to support local businesses. Therefore, I have chosen to return to Tyson a third time for a Jeep Compass (previously Liberty & Cherokee). I find the staff very patient, specifically Bill Wayteck and Jim Kinney. Other staff are attentive as well, always trying to attend to your questions and concerns. I was also assured I'd be taken care of again when I return. :) Thanks, Tyson!
This has to be the slowest service dept I have ever encountered. I have arrived as soon as it opened and still 2 hour wait. In the past for oil changes have taken at least hour yet their sign says express oil changes. I'm not sure their version of express line meaning. I know other who taken in for work same situation. I have not seen this in Chevrolet service departments. I think they should re evaluate the flow of their shop.
Truck has been repaired way before scheduled under warranty. Well done service team. I hope that there are no issues and everything has been corrected. Time will tell, but i may still get rid of it since I have lost faith in the Ram brand.
$64 oil change doesn't include resetting oil change notice. Had to drive back for reset. Then again, maybe my oil wasn't changed???
2nd time bad service here on a jeep renegade 7,891 mile. Would never recommend their service.
And now I have to call jeep to see if their sensors will be able to tell if oil was changed and light just wasn't reset. I would ask this dealer but don't trust them to tell me the truth.
Never wrote a review, that how God dam pissed I am.
Got a good deal on my wrangler but their service and how they treat you after the purchase is pretty terrible. I had a leaking roof which they couldnt seem to fix after 6+ trips to them (about an hour drive for me each way) after one of the attempts i get home and go to water test it to see that there is a huge scratch to bare metal on my roof panel. When I call I talk to the manager of the place and he says to bring it in. I bring it in and he has a service manager look at it to tell me ill need it repainted and to come back next week. Also told him on the phone I have been back and forth there way too many times and even emailed a picture of damage but for some reason I had to drive an hour for them to tell me to come back. They did eventually repaint the panel for me but still couldn't fix the leak so I took it to a dealer closer to me. Months later I pull my radio and replaced it with aftermarket. I needed the anti theft code for the radio to work in another wrangler so I call to see what i need to do to get that. They wanted $25 to give me the code for my radio when all the other dealers provide it for free! I thought going to them they would treat me better than another dealer since i bought from them but that has not even been close to what happened. The leaking top issue was an on going pain that lasted the entire summer and was a huge headache and inconvenience. Hours on hours spent driving back and forth, waiting for them to finish jobs that took hours longer than they told me all to not have anything fixed. Left out a lot of issues dealing with the top for the sake of not having to write a novel but over all I would NOT buy or take my car to Tyson ever again. Not to mention they never told me they scratched the roof panel. There is absolutely no way whoever was working on the car didn't realize they scratched it. That thing was way too deep and long to go unnoticed. Manager of the dealer also didn't seem too willing to help with anything either. I also asked the manager if there was a price break they could give me on a soft top since i was having an issue with the hard top leaking and they say yeah of course we can take care of you and then they give you a price that is HIGHER than buying from the actual Mopar website. After buying the car have yet to have one good experience with this dealership
@ Marco Hernandez
Mr. Hernandez, we apologize for any miscommunication. Your vehicle was brought in for a recall and "service engine light". Upon completion of the recall, we received authorization for diagnosis regarding your service engine light. Not only did we review the paperwork together at write up, we also called for more information (which you provided) and discussed the diagnosis progress multiple times. Upon explaining the repairs needed, the work was declined and you had the vehicle serviced at an independent shop. You then came back and stated that the vehicle wasn't fixed? However, the service engine light was off, no faults in the system and the diagnoses we provided fixed the concern you originally came in for. At that point, you stated that you brought the vehicle in for a vibration? When you came in to discuss the situation you were provided all the documentation that you signed and there was no mention about a "vibration". I understand that you just had an independent shop replace the engine. It can be extremely frustrating spending all that money and now having to deal with a service engine light they can't figure out. However, we were able to provide that diagnosis for you.
You also stated that the airbag light came on after the recall. You were asked if it happened directly after the repair and you explained that it was about a week later. We took the vehicle in right away to diagnosis the airbag light and you were told that if it was related to the recall, we would take of it, no charge to you. However, when we diagnosed the airbag light there was no communication with the ORC module. Even though it was not related to the recall, we still did not charge you for that diagnosis. I just wanted to clarify the information stated. As always, If there is anything that we can do, please contact the service director and we would be happy to assist. Thank you very much for your business.
I had an amazing experience with J.R. at Tyson. The whole deal (for a new Dodge Journey) was done over the phone and email, I got a great price, and everything went smooth at delivery. The easiest car buying experience I have ever had. Was definitely worth the 90 minute drive to Joliet! J.R. even noticed that some caps were missing on the black wheels and handled ordering them, I am very detailed but hadn't noticed. Thanks J.R.! Lindsay in Finance was also very nice, and not pushy on the selling of additional services.
