Was an overnight guest and an attendee of a company function at the hotel. Rooms were nice, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Function was great, dinner was excellent. Construction at the hotel is a little inconvenient, but should be beautiful when it's done
"Under construction" aka the entire lobby is being replaced including the concrete. Lots of jack hammering Stayed for two nights and on the second day, after being out of the hotel all day exploring, returned to my room and all of my stuff was gone Spoke to the front desk lady and she said someone checked me out of the room. I was pretty confused because the card still worked and asked for my stuff back. She said she would talk to the housekeeping manager and they would bring it up. House keeping manager came up and immediately shifted blame to the front desk and defending the housekeeping crew and kept saying they told us you checked out. Missing a pair of shorts and disturbed that they touched all my stuff. Beds were comfy.
Great hotel near the University. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. Attended a Christmas party in one of their event rooms and had a great time. Excellent food!
Went to church in the ballroom. Staff allowed us to move equipment in and out of their loading dock. Kept amenities (mints and water) filled. Rooms were clean and tidy. Bathroom sinks could use some work. Overall a very pleasant experience!
Amazing staff. I had nothing but pure hospitality from everyone there. The rooms were big, comfortable beds, and food was fantastic. The front desk staff, in particular, met and exceeded my expectations. I travel for work quite frequently, and it's the staff like David Lasasha and Natalie Farr who make me say "I'll be coming back".
Thanks again you guys ! And I recommend this hotel to anyone.
Spent some time at the bar with people and was very pleased with the level of service. Will definitely go back more often!
Nice property. Common area is very nice with a fountain and a nice little bar. My corner room is big and the bed is good. So far no complaints. Easy walking distance from U of A and good food. 4 stars is a pretty good score from me. This is a good hotel.
No longer a Marriott Hotel. The quality of this hotel is going down quickly. No gift shop for snacks or toiletries, wallpaper coming off the walls, cobwebs on the light fixtures, our room smelled, bed was one of the worst we have ever slept in. Sad this use to be a hotel parents raved about. Definitely won't be coming back.
Unbelievably courteous, polite and attentive staff. I log about 20 hotel stays per year and the staff here thoroughly impressed me. It seems the whole company culture is great, which would explain why everyone was so consistently great from the front desk to banquets to the restaurant staff to the housekeeping staff. All top notch attitudes and treatment. Thank you!!!
I was at the Tucson university park hotel for a one night stay. Room was decently furnished and the beds were comfy. The sink stopper didn't work, however. Overall a decent stay with good location.
Hotel looks dated, and getting a room took longer than expected the first night. Room cleaning services were great, though, and I had a restful stay
Me and my wife had an absolutely amazing stay! Great hospitality from every staff member from each part of the hotel that we ran across. We checked in and the manager on duty, Honey was more then welcoming to our stay and insured us a great stay, in that we did! She was amazing I seen her the next day helping her fellow coworkers in the dining area picking up plates and making sure everyone was enjoying there meal. It's great to see teamwork. I also ran into a issue nothing to big called down to the front and they sent Robert the maintenance man to our room and he was there in less than 5 mins to fix our problem. He put us 1st which made us feel at ease. The rooms were so cozy and upto date in my books. Had a great stay and I can't wait to come back.
Don't let me forget the great food they had down stairs! Where I met Anthony and Marie the cooks. Delicious buffet and freshly cooked-to order omelettes were on point! Thanks 5 Stars!!!!
Dance floor was falling apart. Not enough seating provided. Crowded with arrangements
First of all let me say that the rooms, fitness center and front desk staff are all as one would expect from a Marriott property.
My issues are with the sales staff and management of the hotel. My group had booked 14 rooms for two nights. While I was away from the hotel my credit card was compromised by a company in Italy so when the sales office ran my card it declined. Rather than contact me the manager ordered my group locked out of their rooms. After receiving calls from members of my group I returned to the hotel and spoke to the manager. I explained what had happened and asked if he would let my group back in their rooms until I had resolved the situation with my bank. He flatly refused despite my guarantee that the situation would be resolved. He had a real "I don't care" attitude. I was frankly shocked at the unwillingness to assist a customer. Especially one who is paying for 28 room-nights. This gentleman tarnished my view of Marriott forever.
During my 32 years in the music business my company has never left a bill unpaid at any hotel, anywhere in the world. I found this type of behavior deplorable.
I work for an internationally renowned, grammy-award winning musical group which necessitates us being constantly on the road. We stay in hotels for months at a time and used to have a fondness for Marriott properties. From the JW Marriott in Seoul and Los Angeles to Marriott properties in Montreal, Turkey and New York. After this episode I have instructed our travel agent to never book us in a Marriott property ever again.
Property is more than a little overdue for renovation. Staff is excellent. If you're in town to visit U of A you won't find a better location.
