Trumansburg Optical and Dr Neil is what small business is all about in a small town. Personal friendly service with a person who really cares about you, asking all the questions that other doctors could care less about. This gives you a much more personal feeling about your eye care.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Goodman. She was very thorough; kind and I was very impressed with her. She went as far as letting me try a new type contacts before billing my insurance. She also was able to identify problems with my retina that previous Dr.’s have missed. Would give 10 stars if I could!

Positive: Friendly staff. Plus there was no pupil dilation with drops was required.
Negative: Was diagnosed incorrectly with wrong contact and eyeglass prescriptions for a couple of years. Even went back for adjustment and to check eyes again but it didn’t help. Went to Optivision in Cortland and got correct prescription which was weaker then was diagnosed with at Tburg Optical. Which is why my vision was blurryprescription was too strong! And also received the correct contacts for astigmatism. I can finally see again!
Every time I had a vision exam at Tburg Optical my vision so happened to get worse. Coincidence?! I hope not but wonder if that’s how they try to make more money since I’d have to get new glasses and contacts. That or their doctor or machines aren’t accurate.
Also incorrectly told about my insurance benefits coverage. Telling me that I had to order glasses or contacts that same day as my exam or would lose benefit. I called insurance company and had 90 days.
Convenient days/hours but any good doctor shouldn’t have to work on a Saturday. That’s what I was told by a good eye doctor.response / report this review -

My experience with this practise,
- I felt uncomfortable as a female patient there
- Me and my husband were told to drive off after our pupil dilation and felt unsafe because we almost crushed our car due to extreme light sensitivity
- we felt the attitude of the staff were unfriendly
- our glasses prescription were made wrong, it was clearer to see without the glasses than with the glasses
