  Visiting the area for the weekend, was looking for a breakfast spot. Found troys family restaurant. Great service, our party of 4 was seated within 2 minutes, not crowded at the time 11:00 am. Breakfast was excellent and very good coffee. We were not disappointed. I do do recommend troys for sure 👍

  This place is so good! It's probably my favorite place in clairemont. I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I would recommend everything on there menu. The service is great and the staff is amazing some of the nicest people I've met. You should come try Troys today!

  Can't say enough good things about this place, I literally stop in at least once or twice a week for breakfast.
  
  I somehow used to go to the Denny's on the other side of Clairemont square but that was before I knew about troys. The prices are just as low or cheaper than Denny's and the food and service is much much better.
  
  The owners are very nice older couple, they are always happy to greet you and they seem to have a whole bunch of regulars from watching them walk around talking to everyone.
  
  The service is usually very good unless they are really busy which they tend to be on the weekends but overall you get that whole home cooked feeling from eating here.
  
  It could use a bit of a an upgrade appearance wise but for the price you can't find much better.
  
  Where else can you and a friend have an egg hashbrown an pancake breakfast for under $8 bucks?? Nowhere. So Smack anyone you see wandering to Denny's and point them across the square. They will thank you for it.

  First, let me say that I treat myself to ham and eggs at Troy's a couple of times a month (waistline permitting), and have done so now for the past year or so. I think the service is great, the food above average for a diner, given the clientele is not typically yuppies in power ties, stoking up for a long day in the highrise office. Nope, it's mostly geezers (my self included) and geezerettes, most of whom are regulars from the surrounding area.
  
  The food is really good, breakfasts large and filling, and daily dinner specials are reasonably priced for the large portions.
  
  Just a great diner, run by a family that takes care of their customers and staff. My go-to
