  Even after the store was closed, the owners made some time to get me some firewood that my boyfriend and I needed to enjoy our trip to Big Cypress. While we did not actually stay at trail lakes this time, we were impressed by how kind the owners were and will camp with them in the future. The site was more forested than Monument Lake Campground in BCNP. Their rates are comparable to the BCNP tent camping sites too!

  I know it's right in the Everglades, and we weren't expecting to have hotel-quality restrooms, but they were disgusting, you could tell there's probably no cleaning at all, or at least not daily. The campground itself didn't look bad. There is A LOT of bugs, that only seems to be afraid of 25% deet bug spray (seriously, bring a lot of spray), we were almost eaten alive.

  Thumbs down, awfull experience, this place is like a loft for mosquito's and bugs, i see my skin full with rashes and bug bites, i can't even explain the situation i faced in this location, they have a water ponds in this site and the water in those ponds are not clean they look like blace water where mosquitoes stay, a big no.

  Beautiful campground with lake, lots of trees, primitive camping and chickie huts and the staff there are great, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Only reason not 5 star is the warm months be prepared for the mosquitoes. Of course, this IS The Everglades!

  Fourth generation glades family camp. Home of Everglades Adventure Tours and the Skunk Ape Research Center. Located within the Big Cypress National Preserve and just a 1/2 mile from the Turner River.

  This is one of my favorite campsites ever and definitely my favorite thus far on our Cali-Florida road trip. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. Everyone here is so nice and accommodating! The gate is open 24/7 so if you get here late at night you can still get a great spot. They have cabins, RV spots and tent areas. We're tent camping and we've had such a hard time finding somewhere that will let us in if we're driving late at night AND also has showers and this place does it. It is kind of "old Florida" and some things could use a little updating but everything works. The showers are clean and hot and free with your camping fee.
  
  The best thing about this place are the camp sites but the second best are the people that work there. They are so friendly and accommodating. They truly go the extra mile to make sure your stay is everything you hope and wish it to be. Even when we had a slight issue with or kayak rental they did everything possible to fix the situation. We loved it so much we stayed two nights instead of our planned one night-- it was the only campgrounds we stayed multiple nights at on our road trip. I would absolutely recommend TLC to family and friends and strangers!

  Was an ok place and would recommend.. They did forget my reservation but still managed to find me a spot. Other than that we were in Feb 2016 and there were still a lot of mosquito's.
  They are also pet friendly.
  Bathrooms were dated but functional

  Had late check in with super nice guy who helped set us up.. very beautiful campground with clean facilities. Only downside was mosquitos.. they live for folks to spray the mosquito sprays.. they think it's BBQ sauce but to be expected this time of year and would not/did not affect our stay. . Just beware.. we are still looking for one of our kids.. think the bugs took her hostage!! ;)
