BEWARE: DON'T GO HERE!
I would stay away from this dealership. They told me they would do a price match but wouldn't when I came in to the dealership. I recently went in to purchase a truck and they made me wait over an hour to get the price on my truck I was trading in. They use their typical dealer tactics of making you wait forever.
Don't waste your time. I ended up going to Toyota of Escondido and bought a vehicle from them. It was a completely different experience with Toyota of Escondido. They were super easy and were up front with everything.
Don't waste your time with Toyota San Diego and go to Escondido.
This place was great. The manager for our deal not only helped us with the loan but was able to even arrange for us to get picked up the next day (we had to return the car rental) in order to finish the loan because we had gone in past the later point of the daytime hours for the banks. It was amazing to get that kind of customer service in helping my family and I get a new vehicle, thank you guys!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! They are DISHONEST People! I took my Prius for a remote key service, and waited more than two hours after been promised to receive a call or text regarding updates on the service. I waited in the lounge and no text or phone call. I went to see Mr. Levy, who filled out the paperwork for service, and to my surprised my car was already dispatched in the parking area. Mr. Levy told me that my car was in pretty good condition. I wonder how long I was waiting in the lounge without any notification about my car status. Then, when I tried to open my car, one of the remote key did not work. The technician was notified and went back in to check the remote keys - He took 20 minutes - just to tell me that he removed the battery from one of the remote keys so the other can work. Both Levy and the technician told me that I needed a NEW REMOTE KEY AND REPROGRAMMING IT for a great estimate deal price of $297. NONE OF IT WAS TRUE!!! I took my remote keys to THE KEY CREW on Adams Avenue, and the technician told me that both remote keys are working, and that the remote key without the battery only needed the removed battery back in - WHICH SAN DIEGO TOYOTA KEPT WITH THEM! So I bought the replacement remote key battery at the KEY CREW for only $3.50, as opposed to be SCAMMED by San Diego Toyota for $300. Now both of my remote keys work perfectly!
My girlfriend and i arrived last night and was greeted with a smile and hand shake from Nick. Very well informed and friendly, he felt like family. They had a great variety of vehicles and we were both able to find something that was just right. With the wonderful help from their financial department, we both walked away being first time owners of brand new cars. Great experience, great staff!
Thank you Nick and Toyota of San Diego
I have had a great experience leasing my Highlander. Clean and friendly staff. I had the pleasure of working with Jake and Aldo. They were helpful, professional and very knowledgeable. They were really patient despite changing my mind several times between buying or leasing. I look forward to doing business with Toyota of San Diego!
Ray and the team at this Toyota were great! Went during labor day sale for a corolla. Gave us a discount for college degree and inventory clearance. Ray was down to earth and a straight shooter. We didn't feel pressured to buy a car we didn't want. The test drive route was great and included an uphill portion to test the car horsepower.
My family left as happy new car owners!
Big Clinton is wonderful. We drove down from LA to purchase a car from him this week and it was a great experience. He came highly recommended from a friend that purchased his truck from him. The entire process went smoothmore importantly no dealership games, no last minute deal changes!! A simple negotiation over the phone was the same deal we got when we arrived!!! He is the best and I would highly recommend talking with him if your interested in a Toyota. Thanks Clinton
They were all wonderful to work with. Specifically, William helped me out the most. During my time working with them they weren't pushy at all and very knowledgable. The managers offered amazing deals but ultimately I went with a different brand. Nothing really they could have done, it was just my personal opinion. If you are looking for a Toyota in SD, I definitely recommend these guys.
The bittersweet feeling l had about turning the BIG 5-0 was turned into one of the better nights of my life. I was gifted a 2017 Toyota Tacoma from my father. Toyota San Diego worked tirelessly with my father over the course of a few months. They made sure to give my father the BEST deal possible. They handled all the "paperwork" over the phone, email, and texts. They delivered the truck, red ribbon and all, to my house and even had someone help my dad with a ruse to get me out of the house and onto my driveway. Salesperson then took the role of photographer to help capture my special moment. Last, but not least, they invited me down to the dealership to show me all the features of my new truck. Awesome experience.
My experience here at Toyota was great. I ended up with a car that my wife wanted on a lease. They were more than willing to up us begin this process. I want to thank Ray for helping us out to pick a car that won't break the bank.
Ive bought a lot of cars in the last few years. Close to 6 cars to be exact so when it comes to buying a car I have extremely high expectations and you'd better be on your game at all times. I was referred to bill by one of my friends. Bill is the finance manager here and I have to say impressed doesn't even cover my experience. Bill walked me through everything, I mean he's the guy who's supposed to sit behind the desk and he winded up taking me out to view the vehicles himself just so I wasn't stuck there waiting. He handled the paperwork and kept in touch with me every step of the way (I didn't have time to wait so I told him what I needed and let him get to work) he was absolutely wonderful. Got me a great price on a new Camry, answered all of my questions and the best part is he had a smile on the entire time (& let's be real, I'm kind of frustrating) he even stayed past his shift to help finish the deal on the last day so he could be the one to sign the papers with me. I am extremely impressed, I will recommend all of my friends to Toyota of San Diego. Seriously though, this man deserves a raise and a pat on the back. I work in customer service and its nearly impossible to find that kind of service around. Keep up the good work Bill! And if any of the managers would like to call me, I would be ecstatic to talk with you because he truly deserves some recognition!
Abdul and Sami were by far the most patient sales team I have experienced with a dealership thus far. We were greeted in the parking lot right away and got down to business (my husband and I knew we wanted a 2017 4runner already). We went through countless negotiations, all of which were met with patience and professionalism (I'm a real go-getter). In the end, my families needs were met, well within our budget with a great APR. Thanks again to these wonderful gentlemen for their time and effort! Happy customers here!
We bought our 2012 Toyota Highlander from here in January 2012, and have been really happy with the vehicle. The sales process was arduous -- they play the silly games on the extensive back-and-forth price negotiations, but I appreciate that the contracts guy did not try to sell further add-ons. I like how you get preferred priority in booking service appointments if you bought the car here. However, my wife had some bad experiences with one service advisor, Q Holt. Standard 15K and 20K oil changes -- which usually take 45-60 minutes took two hours. This happened TWICE. That's not excusable. I called the Service Manager and asked him to make it up to my wife, who was in the waiting area, and he did nothing. My own previous experience with service advisor Jorge had no problems, so I wanted to give them a chance to explain and make it up to my wife. They didn't even give us a follow-up phone call. Since these dealerships make most of their profit on the Service Departments, I would have expected a better response to my patronage. As it is, they're probably hoping to sweep these incidents under the rug, so to speak. So once the free Toyota services are done and I have to start paying for the services, I will consider some of the other Toyota dealerships who can provide a consistently high level of service.
Couple months ago I took my vehicle in for service. Vehicle was serviced. I left dealership to see the maintenance required light was still on. I called my service advisor and left a message. I received a message back from my service advisor stating that the technician must have forgotten to reset the light and requested I return. However he assured me that the truck was properly serviced. Being extremely busy, I could not allocate approximately an hour of my time to have the light reset therefore I decided to wait until the next service appointment. Last Friday, I took my 2013 Tundra in for service and my service advisor informed me that the mass air flow sensor meter was bad and a replacement would be ordered.
My service advisor informed me that he would be off Sat and Mon and if I like, I could bring it in Tuesday and he could take care of this. After leaving Toyota of San Diego’s service department I received a message from my service advisor stating that my air filter canister may not have been secured and advised me to check. Once I returned to my office, I discovered that my truck’s air filter canister was left open. This morning, I called at 8:30 am to confirm the part arrived so I could bring my truck in for service. By 9:15 am, since I did not receive a call back from my service advisor, I called back to speak with the service manager to ask the status. The service manager was unavailable, therefore I left a voicemail. I did not receive a call back by 9:45am, so I left a message for the general manager. At approximately 11:00am, my service advisor called and said that he has been slammed all morning. I explained that I am as busy as imaginable and I had been waiting to hear from him since 8:00am and his reply was that he had just been slammed. Due to the past two incompetent service experiences I received with the maintenance required light not being reset and the air filter canister not being secured properly and now this incident, I have lost all confidence in Toyota of San Diego’s service department.
If the service department struggles to perform the basic services, I shudder to think how it performs on challenging services. I sincerely hope that Toyota of San Diego take the time an effort to correct the service department's inadequacies including but not limited to the abusive behavior that my service advisor exhibited toward the technicians in front of customers.
