A beautiful place, decorated for the holidays. Wonderful food. The special price is 39.00 for soup or salad, entree and dessert. Double that for drinks, appetizer and after dinner coffee with tax and tip. Worth it for a special occasion.
Food and wine are spectacular!! Biggest filet I've seen and insanely tender! The house itself is very creepy at first glance but inside is beautiful, from the woodwork, crown moldings, and fireplaces. It's a perfect anniversary spot or for an amazing proposal date. Would HIGHLY recommend! The only thing I was a little disappointed about were the desserts but still an amazing experience!
Date night, special occasion or throwing a wedding. This is a beautiful place inside out. It has a valet service for $7. Reservation is must especially during holidays and weekends, you can even specify the table you would like to have reserved (if you have not been here - ask for one near to window for late evenings)
Things about this place that really stands out are the history, hospitality and amazing food. You will a get a tour of this place every 30 minutes. Ghost bar on third floor is famous for being haunted and that’s how it got the name I guess.
Great food, awesome experience. Lots of history in the mansion. Highly recommend doing the tour. Service is extraordinary. Highly recommended for anyone looking to dine in Detroit. Don't miss out on dessert.
Came here for an early dinner. Such a beautiful building with so much history and character. The early prix-fix dinner was very reasonable for $40 and included a delicious crab bisque soup and lobster tail entree. Though the Ghostbar was closed for a private event, we were still able to wander around and wonder at the stunning ceiling and decor. Highly recommend!
Excellent service from Annfood was delicious and served hot. Appetizers were scrumptious. Everyone in our party of 8 also enjoyed the wine selections.
Excellent brunch. The building is fantastic to walk through. We took a guided tour that went through all three floors and learned about the owners and the history. The guide was very informative. The food afterward for the brunch was exceptional as well and service as one would expect was Top Notch
Reserved for my wife's birthday here OUTSTANDING SERVICE. Though the prices were higher than your franchise restaurants, it was still quite reasonable considering the service and food that we received!!
Wined and dined at the first level, sweetened up on level 2, then had a few more drinks up on the top level.
The house tour was cool too. Recommend doing that BEFORE drinking as there will be some stairs.
Would definitely go back again, and booking for my in-laws to go there for their anniversary. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Reserve your special occasion today! A 5 star experience like no other. Request Mike as your server and you will have raised the bar for the rest of your life. Mike offers a flawless presentation of food and customer service. I will return as often as possible just to remind myself what a customer should be treated like in a restaurant. From the food to the ambiance this restraint has no competition. Don't just read this review, call today, ask for MIKE as your server and experience it for yourself!!!
I took my wife, daughter and mother-in-law here for the Mother's Day brunch. The restaurant is in a beautiful old mansion on Woodward not far the DIA. Seating is divided amongst several rooms on the first and second floor allowing for a more intimate feel even if it is busy.
The three course brunch was fantastic and the service was phenomenal. They even gave my wife and mother-in-law a nice tea cup as a Mother's Day gift.
I will return in the future.
Location is truly one of a kind. There is no place like this in the state; the building, architecture, decor and ambiance are all breathtaking. The staff is fantastic and the service is 5-star. And don't miss the Ghost Bar upstairs! One of the most romantic, classy establishments we have ever visited.
Can't believe we've lived in the area since 1991 and this is the first time we've been to the Whitney. We were down the street for dinner, and stopped in for dessert and to see the place. Their gluten-free chocolate cake was great! The waiter was attentive, but not intrusive when we went to the top floor bar area and sat in a room with couches where he found us and waited on us promptly. It also was good to see the building itself - wow, must have really been something in its day. Worth the trip for that alone.
Absolutely sensational. The food was prepared nicely, and there are plenty of entrees, desserts, and drink options. Excellent service, as well!
The interior of this place is captivating, I must say. The decor is original, and the ambience is absolutely wonderful. On top of that, you should definitely walk around and see the rest of the mansion. Stunning.
I recommend The Whitney to anyone looking to have a very classy brunch, lunch, and dinner.
I once had the pleasure of dinning here when I was younger and the experience was very enjoyable, unless you happen to be the one picking up the tab lol but with that said generally if you happen to be dinning here money probably isn't much of a concern for you. I do remember that they have an exceptional wine selection and depending on your taste you could easily purchase a decent car or cheap house in Detroit for what you will pay for a fine bottle of vintage wine. If you have the means or maybe just want to splurge for a night then look no further because this is definitely the spot for elite dinning. FYI make sure you are aware of the dress code prior to
coming because unless it has changed you must be wearing either a nice suit & tie or a dress but this probably goes w/o saying for most. Cheers!!
