Aesthetically beautiful location. Food adequate. Interior design underwhelming. Staff very nice but inexperienced. You won't hate but it's not great.

Very average food. Kids couldn't eat the fish and chips. The batter was so thick and heavy. We had to return an oyster as it was clearly past its best and they served a completely flat glass of Verve we had to have changed. The waiter was understanding but really just not good enough.

This little place, tucked away on a side road off PCH is a great place to enjoy the ocean. When I take people to Malibu for the first time, we always go there -- it's a cozy but modern vibe, with a whole wall of windows looking out onto the beach. Their food is delicious, or it's a great place to have a relaxing late afternoon cup of tea with friends.

The place is beautiful. I would have rate 5s, but waiters should stop speeding up the service in order to have more tips. I'll never understand why Americans give tips even when the service sucks. Zero tip. Next time I'll have dessert on the table after finished the main course

We just stopped by for some coffee, but I have to say that not only was their coffee good, but their service was exceptional. From the front desk girl, to the bartender, they were responsive and friendly. Truly a rare experience these days.

I Was Celebrating My Birthday With My Daughter At The Sunset Restaurant In Malibu. The Hostesses Were Wonderful! The View Was Fantastic, As We Were Seated Right By The Front Window's With A Slight Breeze Coming In Off The Ocean! Our Server, Andre, Was Fantastic! The Food Was Delicious! The Drinks Were Just Right! Martin And His Staff Are Superb! I Highly Recommend Anyone To Go Here And Enjoy The Ambience All Around.. Stacie A Reynolds

We love our room and the overnight staff was amazing on our stay tonight 6/28/17. However, the table by the pool that is a fire pit was not on and could not be turned on. We had to go to the pool area to smoke a cigar for our anniversary. Otherwise, we would stay here again.

Amazing!! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and absolutely loved it!! The view is spectacular and the food is out of this world. The location is perfect!! on the beach. This is us right as the sun sets. Thank you to the staff for making this a memorable experience. Cheers!!

Hump day happy hour yesterday brought us to this bar. I wish I had read the reviews beforehand because I missed the basil gimlet! Sad face.Oh well, next time.Hard to beat $4 well drinks, friendly bartenders, and casual non-sketchy crowd. The one downside was that it got so noisy it was really hard to hear each other. $10 card minimum so bring cash or know your debit card usage rights and be prepared to argue about it.

I planned the dinner at The Sunset Restaurant for my small wedding party. Quinton who is the event planner at the Sunset is just amazing. He was cordial, flexible and just helped us to make our wedding dinner very special. The service was excellent and as all my guest loved their foor. The weekend before we selected their wines and found a wonderful chardonnay. Thank you for your everything .

I don't want to even talk about this place it's so awesome. What a great little find from a local friend. Just about the coolest place I've ever watch the sunset and that's saying a lot given that I watch them from all over the world. Great food great wine great service. Casual but classy

What I liked about it: amazing location for the sunset, the Fresh open And Seafood Oyster Bar, nice bar and seating area, food portion sizes, shoestring french fries and free parking.

What I didn't like: the food taste was a very Bland, the Fish and Chips were quite greasy, Expensive and happy hour specials were limited to the bar area.

Some relatives and I have dinner at the sunset we were very excited as we knew it had a great view of the sunset. Upon arrival the waiter took our drink order I asked what was the happy hour special and to my disappointment he indicated that it was only drinks for the bar area. What a silly concept. I ordered the fish tacos and my other guests had the fish and chips. The three fish tacos that came were quite large but they truly locked any exciting taste or flavor and left more to be desired. I tasted some of the fries from the fish and chips they were quite delicious but they indicated that the fish itself was quite greasy. I can't say that I would recommend or return to this restaurant. It is such a shame a restaurant with such a beautiful view and interior lacks the creative mindfulness towards its food preparation.

The bar has a nice selection of beer, small but nice. Bartender was very friendly and served drinks quickly. Beautiful view of the beach across the street. Had a burger and fries there. Was pretty good. Very pretty place, beautiful views.
