I went there for my 26th Birthday, couldn't have picked a better spot. It was magical.

The setting is gorgeous. Typically the food is delicious, but last night my halibut was overdone (unforgivable given the cost). The service was TOO intense. By this I mean the team of 3-4 never stopped hovering. We ordered drinks and dinner all at the same time and specifically asked for some time to enjoy the cocktails. The drinks came out and 1 minute later the appetizers arrived! The servers are older and very experienced and maybe that accounts for their "I'm so bored with you" attitude. They didn't seem to like their job or us hard to tell. I asked our waiter, half kidding if Oprah eats here (she lives very close). Answer - We aren't allowed to talk about it. Really? That means she does, obviously. I have been there 3 times and won't be back. Too many other nice restaurants in Santa Barbara that are a LOT more fun and have comparable cuisine. (go there when you can still see the view)

The surroundings are beautiful and this is what makes the restaurant so romantic. I enjoyed the olives and bread that they served before the meal. The presentation of the food is artistic and the flavors and quality of the meal was excellent.

Wow. Amazing place to grab some locally sourced food. I have never had abalone and decided to give it a try. The texture was new to me, and I didn't care for it. However, the flavor was amazing! I also ordered the parmesean crusted halibut. Tasty!!!
The atmosphere is romantic. The service is great. The food is amazing.
You pay for everything as it is expensive. You get what you pay for. Save up your money and give this place a try!response / report this review -

I'm getting more strict in my evaluations, but this time I have to recognise a 5 stars to this restaurant. Charming place, very good service, well balanced menu and finally excellent food. Yes it is expensive but you value for your money. If again it n santa barbara I will come back.

The Stonehouse was a great experience and a fun restaurant to visit it feels like a different world. It was fancy and fun at the same time. I would recommend this place for someone that wants to try something different or a special occasion and allow time to walk around the gardens. I would definitely make a reservation

My wife and I came here when checking out the ranch (SYR) before selecting it as our wedding venue. We have been here 5 times since and not once have we been disappointed. They also catered our wedding and every guest said that was the best food they have had. We had the chicken and halibut. The chicken tortilla soup is a must, and so is the blood orange margarita. I felt love the Stonehouse restaurant and San Ysidro Ranch!
