Stayed in 208. Had a really nice time. The room was gorgeous, it's the old side. No a/c. Be prepared to love it old school style! But for me and my kids, we fell in love. Took the haunted tour with my oldest daughter. The staff is ridiculously lovely!! Easy to fall in love with every person u meet! Tonight we stay in the new side, we wanted the full experience!!

The spirit tour was nice. I would recommend the historical tour. The Stanley hotel does not disappoint. The minute you walk through the doors you feel like your stepping back in time to the 1900's. There's a feeling of class and elegance. The fireplaces and the main staircase are the biggest I've ever seen. Everything about the Stanley was majestic and rich in history. I'm Glad I was able to check this off my bucket list 😁 Nect time were in Colorado, we'll try to actually stay in the hotel

Amazing place! The drive there is worth it alone, but then you come into the cute town of Estes and see the white Stanley. It's awesome! The history of the hotel is great, the staff is friendly and the ghost tours are so much fun with great tour guides. We stayed for our anniversary and spent a lot of time at the whiskey bar trying all their whiskey. Great time all around.

Reputation aside, The Stanley does not disappoint. The service is impeccable, from the attention to detail to their follow-through to make sure patrons are satisfied. Maybe it's just the Colorado thing, but no one made me feel out of place when my husband and I checked in with mud on our pants from hiking and sight seeing. The amenities were incredible and the staff was sincerely polite and accommodating. I'm allergic to down (yes, the actual feathers), and they took care of the linens and room without question (and even left us a romantic rose petal arrangement afterward). All of Estes Park is magical, but The Stanley is truly majestic.

My husband and I chose to have our small reception in the Music Room at The Stanley. We did have a change of event managers at the beginning, but everything was wonderful from start to finish. It was never an issue. Amy met with me a few months before the wedding to discuss all of the details. She was very organized, professional, and the day was perfect. Amy is very prompt in communication and tries to make everything as easy as possible. Our guests could not stop talking about how wonderful the food was! The wait staff was wonderful as well. The Music Room and hotel itself are very elegant and have stunning views. We couldn't have picked a better reception venue. Highly recommend!

Picture this : you're in a beautiful quaint secluded little mountain town with views of the Rocky Mountains in 360 degrees in every direction. Now enter the Stanley Hotel, with its turn of the century architecture, history, friendly, knowledgeable staff, not to mention a great bar with great food and specialty cocktails, daytime tours divulging the history of the hotel and the development of the area, and the night time ghost tours to share some of the special paranormal activity that goes on in the hotel among all of its buildings, and you've just made for a wonderful weekend getaway. I would highly recommend spending a long weekend in Estes Park and visiting the Stanley. Estes Park is about an hour and a half drive from the Denver Airport, and if you cannot get a room at the Stanley, there are many lovely quaint cottage and cabin-type hotels in the area within five minutes of the Stanley, so you can still visit every day and take the tours. Don't forget to take a trip into Rocky Mountain National Park while you're there!

We had a great trip visiting the Stanley Hotel! They upgraded us to an amazing suite with a great view. Super comfortable beds and a huge kitchen. We enjoyed going on the ghost tour - kinda spooky, but great fun! You'll definitely enjoy your visit!

Beautiful hotel, and scenery. We did take a tour, very informative, and lots of opportunities for pictures, even of the paranormal kind ~ if you're into that. There is a night tour available as well, we were too tired to do that after traveling all day. Be sure to look for references to the movie(s) filmed there.. Visited in October, was very windy, but sun was warm. Wouldn't recommend trying to book a room on a whim, front desk stated availability can be limited at times. Price was about what we expected for this hotel, $$$.

We loved our stay at the Stanley, the atmosphere is amazing. Every employee we spoke with was extremely nice and always willing to help. When we arrived we found that we had been upgraded to a haunted room at a pretty substantial discount which was absolutely amazing. We also had a fantastic time on the ghost tour with our tour guide who's name I'm believe was Ben or Dan. We also ate at the Cascade restaurant which while a bit pricey was absolutely delicious. Their whiskey menu was a bit overwhelming but a must visit for any whiskey lover.

Great atmosphere! The food was slightly more expensive, but understandable for such a well-known location. All the food we had was excellent, and we ate very much! Since they're well known for their whiskey variety, we tried 6 different types. All types were great in there own unique way. Definitely worth the trip!

We took a late night haunted tour of the Stanley hotel, and overall we had a great time. Our tour guide, Andrew was very knowledgeable and definitely knew his stuff, and he was such a great sport despite the fact that most of the people on the tour, including myself, are ghost skeptics. He still told us stories of only one ghost that apparently resided in the basement of the ballroom. We would have loved to see some of the actual rooms on the tour, but it wasn't realistic because of the guests that we're paying to stay there. Overall, the tour was a lot of fun and we would definitely recommend to anyone staying the Estes Park area!

We visited the Stanley Hotel for a nighttime paranormal tour. Andy was a great and knowledgeable tour guide and kept a positive attitude throughout the entire night despite the large number of skeptics in the group. The tour was a lot of fun, despite nothing too extraordinary happening during the tour. Perhaps it was only because we were the last tour of the night, but I never felt like we were being rushed through the tour, and the pace felt very natural. I am giving the tour 4 stars because I would have liked to have been able to see some of the haunted rooms on the tour as well. I know it's not feasible because there are guests staying at the hotel as well, but it would have added to the experience for me. We still had a very good time and I would recommend this tour to skeptics and believers alike.

The Hotel is old and beautiful. Well maintained for its age. The service and employees were great. We absolutely loved our tour guides, Abbey & Bekah! Our only complaint is the room. The pricing is much too high for such a small room and no A/C.

Last week we stayed at the Stanley Hotel, we were in the Aspire building which is the newest building. Even though the beds were very high off the ground they were incredible comfortable. Room was like new and we really enjoyed the room. We were not able to get into the ghost tours because they were booked but we did see Aiden Sinclair the Illusionist that does a seance and he was AMAZING!!!! Absolutely worth the money to see him an it was only $20.00 a ticket for guests. Loved this place.

They do not honor confirmations, they don't play the shining 24hr anymore, the hedge maze will not be interesting for another 15 years.

We booked our room 3 months in advance. They sent us an email offering an upgrade at a discount. We choose the upgrade and received a confirmation number. On check in they told us they gave the upgraded room to someone else who paid full price. Yes, they actually said this.

We came to this hotel mostly for its role in the Shining. Being able to watch the Shining anytime day or night was important to us.

The hedges in the maze are about 2 feet tall. Not interesting at all.

The hotel is interesting and it was great to see. There are lots of historic items including a Stanley steamer and lots of photos. Overall it was a good stay.

I ordered a salad with an $8 salmon addition. I was half way through the salmon when I noticed it was not fully cooked. The waiter agreed it was not cooked. No apology, no concern at all. But he did take $4 off the bill. I guess I ate half the salmon so he took half the cost off.

At another sitting there was a fingernail rolled up in the napkin. I mentioned this and the manager was concerned and was very apologetic.

The shower curtain rod was broken. While sliding the curtain the rod comes apart. When adjusting the shower water temperature the handle for the water pressure also changes. So it's either a hot shower with low pressure, or good pressure but a cold shower.

Our hot tea was barely warm because they ran out out of lids for the tea pots. The eggs were not cooked enough and the bacon was burnt. Server was great.
