  Excellent coffee (we got a mocha latte and caramel latte) and food was delicious (especially the gumbo soup- spicy and perfect on a cool day)!! Great atmosphere, very welcoming, and wifi! Thank you so much!

  It is very misleading to say do you make the baked goods in house, when in reality, you take them out of the box and put them in the oven. It's not hard to tell the difference between freshly baked, and freshly taken out of the box and baked. I don't like being misled, and I would have made a different decision had I been correctly informed of this detail that I consider a very important one. A freshly baked scone is not even the same thing as a scone from a box put in the oven.
  
  Not sure what happened, but this place used to have good food from what I remember. I will be sure to stop in banner elk next time instead.

  Really friendly staff here with some baked goods, candy and snacks. You can also buy coffee and tea. Decent drip coffee varieties and espresso drinks.

  Cute little cafe. Good coffee and some menu items that you can get and have a nice lunch or breakfast. Under some changes so looking forward to seeing the direction it is heading.

  My fiance said this was the best coffee in the mountains. I went by one Sunday not knowing they had been closed for almost an hour and the owner stopped her car and offered to open back up just to serve us. You don't find that anymore

  River Dog Coffehouse & Cafe was the perfect breakfast spot on our trip to the area. The food was fresh & delicious, service excellent, and had the best coffee. We made it a point to stop there every morning before we headed out for our daily excursions. Would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a delicious/affordable latte & breakfast.
