We came here to enjoy a little getaway after having our kids. Upon arrival our first impression was outstanding and the resort is beautiful. We were greeted with friendly staff and smiling faces. We were offered to upgrade our room to a better view for $30 a night, we accepted. Once we checked in, we realized there was no tub in the bathroom and was a little disappointed. We went downstairs to see if they could accommodate us and they were unable to give us a room with a tub. We decided to get a bite to eat at Spencer’s before unpacking and the food was served cold. After a long day of traveling, we expected a hot meal at the very least especially for the price. We returned our food and went back up to the room in which was very warm and had to call maintenance to check A/C. At that time, Yvonne, the supervisor on duty, and Shara, the receptionist, decided to accommodate us with a room that had a tub at no extra charge. They went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. It was perfect!! We decided to give the restaurant another shot since it was late and we were starving at that point. We had a much better experience and the food was great this time. But we shouldn’t have to complain to get great service at a hotel of this status. The Reach truly is in a perfect location and the beach is beautiful. We had a magical time the rest of the trip. We would definitely stay here again after the customer service we received!!
Not what you expect from a Waldorf Astoria. We have been listening to two rosters outside our room crowing so loudly even the TV can't drive them out. The property next door is literally 15 feet from my front door. This property looks like a semi run down old condo that was converted to a hotel. However, the staff is friendly and helpful. They just need a better hotel to work for.
This is a very pleasant resort to stay at, and for the money you spend it's overall worth the cost. The issues I experienced were minor. One of these instances being the Valet lost the key to my vehicle and then proceeded to call me @ 6:50 in the morning asking why I left my car parked outside all night.I was taken off guard by thisApparently the Valet from that night had not moved my car back and had misplaced the key :/ So the new Valet in the morning had no idea of the circumstances regarding why my vehicle was parked out front, and of course called me asking why I left my car outside
We were also staying in a Studio Suite with a HUGE balcony but we only had one chair out there. I called the front desk three days ago still no second chair on my last night. I feel as though this particular resort could use a little more organization.
The Bartenders Christina and Kesia were absolutely phenomenal and made up for minor details***
Over priced for not much. Small beach, everything closes at 10pm, including room service. 35 a day to park for hotel guests. Staff not that helpful. Don't order pizza, the delivery drivers can't go to your rooms, even though the are outside. Make sure you eat early even if you're on central time or eastern time frame. "ocean view" room that I paid extra for, was a parking lot view with the ocean quite a ways away. For the money personally I would have stayed at Best Western and spent money going fishing or snorkeling.
Absolutely horrendous customer service. Rooms don't even remotely live up to the Waldorf designation. I will remove Hilton affiliates from my travel plans permanently because of my experience here.
Arrived at 1pm. We were told no rooms were ready and the front desk grunted something to the bellman about storage. Eventually we got an explanation and we were assured we'd receive "the first room available" and a text message or call when housekeeping was finished. "They're almost done." We understand that guaranteed check in is 4pm. 2.5 hours later, after several guests we know were shown right to their rooms without issue, we returned to the hotel. So much for first room available. No text, no call, no clue, just inconvenience and poor service until Esmeralda tried to make it right.
One of thr best places Ive vacationed to. I love that they have their own beach right on the resort. Plus you can also go to their sister Resort down the street. The people are so nice and the service is amazing. Well come here again.
Exactly what you would expect from Hilton and the Waldorf. Outstanding service. Very good restaurant. The only private beach in Key West. This is our second stay and when we return to Key West this is the only place we will consider staying. Just off the end of Duval so you're very close to all of the action, but just far enough away so not to be bothered by the late night shenanigans that can sometimes occur.
We stayed here for a birthday and the hotel went above and beyond. They decorated the room, had a card with a drink voucher for everyone. They also had a shirt setting on the bed (extra charge) when we got to the room with confetti and balloons! Great customer service and a bit quieter than staying by Mallory square so sleeping was not a problem! Beautiful views and exceptional staff!! I'd highly recommend this hotel.
My husband and I took a last minute trip and were happy to get a reservation! We were able to up grade our room upon arrival. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, even though a bit dated. The amenities are shared with a sister property which was an extra bonus!!! The food and service was good! The property is very clean (sea weed can not be controlled by staff). Chairs, hammocks, pavilion on the beach area and a nice pool area! Hopefully, will be back in the near future!!!!
So far we have had a first rate experience. The staff is friendly and helpful. Between the happy hour menu, the full dinner menu, or the breakfast buffet I was always able to have a great meal. The food is amazing well prepared and complimented with a nice wine selection. The local amenities, billies water sports offered a great selection of activities. We really enjoyed the 2 hour wave runner tour. Michael lead us on a fun trip. We support the local businesses
The first infant crib provided was ripping from the bottom, the second and disgustingly the best option had what appeared to be blood stains. No fitted sheets for the crib were available (SIDS) risk. We also got three calls, two after 9pm, waking the baby, asking if we wanted a sofa bed pulled out. The furniture in the room appeared stained and scratched and the hotel was doing maintenance and renovations the whole week without notifying the guests until it had started. When I raised my complaints they were disregarded. If you have children and you're concerned about their safety, welfare and your sanity, stay somewhere else.
We were here the night of our wedding and it was a wonderful experience. We stayed on the north side of the hotel, ate at the restaurant, made use of the beach, as well as several other amenities. Great job!
This is for reservation, special requests and questions answer only. Must preface and say that we are HHonors Diamond members. The hotel construction is almost over and will be the end of March. The staff could not have been more helpful, courteous and kind with some special requests for our upcoming visit. Remember this is not a "big city" Waldorf, but a resort. We loved the property in Panama City, Panama and have good reports on this one. Will rate once our stay is over. The area is much quieter than the opposite end of the island.
Our view from our balcony overlooked a huge pile of construction debris and a view of the busy street. Hot water takes almost 6 minutes to arrive in the sink in the morning. Location is great and pool and beach area very nice. But for what we paid, there should have been much more. One last thing. A cab driver recommended a restaurant close to the reach in the rear of the property. When I asked hotel staff about it, two of the staff said: " he must have been talking about our restaurant, try it". He was not and we did find the other restaurant, it was great. Would have preferred an honest answer from their staff.
You will not find any notice on the web that this hotel is under construction. You will be told at check-in and then it is too late to find alternate accommodations for two reasons. First, The Reach requires a one night deposit and by the time you check-in the refund/cancellation time period has expired so you forfeit the deposit if you leave. Second, all of the other hotels in the (south end) area are already booked. Construction consists of concrete jackhammers that run from 10 am to 6 pm. If your room is any where near the construction you will not be able to use the room during that time period because of the noise and vibration. The hotel staff says that the construction has been ongoing for a long time (years?). Manager appeared to be very practiced at making excuses for the hotel presumably indicating that there are a lot of complaints. No excuse for this kind of deceptive sales practices. Tell people in advance.
