Won't honor Americans with disabilities act (ADA) for people who have to come in by bus from out of town to see a specialist unexpectedly. Have to have a doctor follow out a form BEFORE you get here to see the Dr. Have to get a card. No other way. No supervisor. RIGHT. can't get picture ID.its the principle. I have a card from where I live.

I don't care what anyone says! The Rapid is AWESOME! It's a great, cheap way of getting just about anywhere you need to go in Grand Rapids. The drivers are usually friendly(everyone has bad days), and they're usually spot on with the schedule. Google maps makes it even more convenient. Keep up the great job Rapid. And Thank You!!!

the rapid needs many improvements 1 reasons nicer bus drivers. bus drives be rushing you when your trying to get your money in the machine or when your using change it happened to me and i saw with my own eyes it happens to others too 2 reason when i was waiting for the # 1 bus the bus driver left me and this girl because she was late and because as soon as she came she was about to stop but then the green light and she was gone and left me waiting for the next bus 3 reason when the bus is all the way packed and there is a whole bunch of people standing from the front to the back bus drivers still be letting people on . 4 reason late buses the 4 is always late and the silver line too which makes me late first hour and if i take an earlier bus i will be too early 5 reason y'all machine dont be working for the silver line and i told the security officer and he said i cant get on. i have more to say but im too im at wendys trying to enjoy my food and not think about yall

Where to begin. 1st, the customer service #. beyond poor. I remember, when it was, you could call & actually talk to someone to find out info about buses NOT any more.. and the automated system sucks 2. Buses never on time, which leaves one wondering why even have a schedule to begin with then, bus stops are cruddy no covered spots they are few & far between and not enough of them god help you, if it rains, much less snows then to add injury to insult, is having to stand, especially hard on older folks the bus schedule sucks especially on the weekends, not long enough or more routes. a bunch shut down on sunday what the heck then rude employees either talking bad, or just plain out not stopping, despite seeing you @ a bus stop, waiting couple of years ago waited for # 9 on Alpine for over an hour in the snow. before 1 finally showed up and that, is just the tip of the iceberg

The bus system isn't the worst, but also not the greatest. Lots the Rapid needs to improve on, and hopefully with the coming Wave product it will smooth out how customers pay, you won't always need to scramble for change or search for lost bus cards. Everything will be loadable on your card and you will even be able to use an app. Now if they could just get the buses to operate on their proper schedule and weren't late all the time, maybe I'd bump my star rating to a 4.

They hardly run on time, it's amazing they continue to get funding.
I usually a few times a week find myself standing around and waiting and then a handful of the same bus number all show up at the same time. You'd think the drivers would realize it's not good to bunch upresponse / report this review -

They do the best they can given the scare resources they have to provide a service. Buses are relatively clean and kept safe.
Other cities in Michigan can't match the "urban reach" THE RAPID provides on a daily basis.
I ride my bike so it's nice that they have bike carriers. I have never seen anything but gracious service given to the Handicapped and wheelchair-bound customers.
Maybe, THE RAPID riders are a bit spoiled!response / report this review -

The Central Station is a good place if you use the Buses to get around Grand Rapids. I like to use the Buses because they can take you to a lot of different places if you do not have a car. There is a roof over where all of the buses stop, and inside, there is a place to buy food and snacks. They have good snacks for teenagers like chips and hot cheetos.

I was on grey hound one time in my life so not much for an opinion. Hope your business is looking to propose a tax benifit . Receive tax to break cost of using buses. This would help solar and electric transition of vehicles as business uses products to gain profit. Would help the community to with lesser cash at hands. Be a tourist attraction and product benifit. If you know the right people. Hope to be using the bus soon. Just need to figure out some personal finances.

Nothing like waiting for the 48 (not to mention the downtown buses) to loop around and having all three buses show up to the stop at the same time. After years of running these routes you'd have thought they would be able to make sure they don't all clump together. Waiting 10+ minutes for the first bus to show up (and half the time have it too full to get on) has made me late countless times. If I was any good at riding a unicycle to campus I would, it would certainly be faster.
