The platform is just a ground level slab. Countries like Germany, England, France, and others even in the third world have managed to have raised platforms that are safer and easier for passangers get in the train. All this work for a new building yet the main purpose for the train station was overlooked: The platform. It's not even covered!!

Was great until CATA took over and transferred a very rude and disrespectful person to operate the Ticket Counter for Grayhound and Indian Trails. She had the audacity to call someone a Fat A** when she is larger than them and even spit on another person in front of me that she got into a heated dispute with. Other than that if it weren't for the person from CATA working there and how she operates the facility I'd give it at least a 3 to 4 🌟rating. Get rid of this person CATA and bring in a better more People Friendly Employee and you might get better rating from me.

New station cost millions yet lacks basic platform canopy. Train travelers in the 19th century enjoyed boarding trains from stations with platform canopies that protected you from the rain. This multi million dollar facility makes you stand out in the rain while you wait for permission to board from the Amtrak conductors who may have you board a different car depending on your destination. Whoever designed this station had never ridden Amtrak in the rain, clearly. Also, half the benches have seats upside down! Also the former station had no parking restrictions (free). But now I noticed there is an ominous pay to park kiosk. If your a driver simply looking to avoid Chicago traffic/parking consider driving to Michigan city and using the South shore line to access the city.

Nice new station. It would be helpful if they had a display board so you know what trains are departing soon.

Amtrak Station is a brand new 10 million dollar structure also has CATA bus service and the Michigan Flyer Bus. Nice building but while the waiting area is open 24hrs the main part of the building is only open some of the time.

Small station that could use a few upgrades but the staff is extremely helpful! I always enjoy riding the rails and you really cannot beat the price.
