Went at 11:15 on a Saturday morning, right before the lunch rush. Our party of 5 all had the buffet, we also tried the okra gumbo and she crab soups. Both were very good. The buffet was an awesome combination of southern favorites: fried chicken, sweet potato casserole, varieties of okra, etc. Very delicious. Pirates also walked around offering tours of the restaurant (can't tour the tunnels without going through a reservation with a company).

First time in Savannah and first time at the Pirate's House. Very disappointing. With so many good reviews we were expecting a great meal and a good experience. Not so much. The fried chicken, the boneless pork and even the salmon patties were overcooked and very dry. Food you would expect at one of those franchise all you can eat buffets which we won't go to anymore. My wife had a hamburger and it was just average. It came out really fast so it might have been partially precooked and thrown on the grill to warm it up. Just like another reviewer, they would not let me take my dessert to go even though it was supposed to have been included in the meal. Would not recommend to anyone especially tourists who expect more from a great destination.

We enjoy every visit here and make it a point to stop by whenever we are in Savannah. Good American and Southern food. Easy parking. Last time we went was for a family lunch and we had the buffet which is close to a feast. Our appetites were truly satisfied. Great service! Reasonably priced.

This was my first time at The Pirates' House and it won't be my last. We had a great time with family there for Thanksgiving and they are STILL talking about how great the food was. We were all STUFFED! Great Food! Great Value! Excellent Experience!

It was the best fried chicken I ever have so far. It was amazing! Having said that, the service was great as well. And the atmosphere of the restaurant just make the entire dinning experience even better. This is the place I would definitely come back next time when I visit Savannah, GA again.

I happened to go here on National Talk Like A Pirate Day! So the waiters and waitresses were dressed up and talking like pirates, adding to the ambiance. I am a visitor to the South, so I tried the Pecan Fried Chicken. Looked great, but didn't taste as good as I hoped. Tons of food though, so took some. Ack to my hotel. The decor is fun and historic. And afyer dinner you can get a free your of the building with a story of its history. Overall not bad, and an interesting place to check out, but nothing amazing.

The time I was there was three years ago. My husband & I stopped by for dinner. We ordered the pecan fried chicken, it was phenomenal! It makes me crave it when I think about it. Be sure to ask your server about any ghosts stories. The ambience is wonderful. I will be back the next time I drive through Savannah.

It was a long time ago but my memories of this place are still clear. We were there for ages enjoying the menu and drinks. Very historic with a real pirate feel. Brilliant.

Anytime we go to Savannah, I insist that we go here. Although they don't have the best selection of food, I always find something that I like. This time, I got a burger and it was delicious! I'm never disappointed by the quality/taste of the food. The main reason we keep on coming back is because I love the feel and decor of the place and all of the history that it houses.

It was a great lunch to catch between tours and shopping. Atmosphere was fun for kids. Waiter was so kind and patient with our grandson who is on the autism spectrum. A fun costumed pirate came around to talk with the kids and pose for pictures while we waited for very good food. My hamburger was the best I've had in a restaurant in a long, long time.good children's menu.

We had a great waiter. it is a great place for children. The staff was very accommodating and interacted with our children a number of times during our meal. Received a very simple tour from the pirate. The lunch buffet was continously restocked and the food was hot.

Nice lunch buffet, everything tasted great. Server was outstanding, our whole group was very happy. Fried chicken tasted great and all the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Other menu items were well priced with a good variety. Buffet came with a choice of desserts: key lime pie or banana pudding. Both are winners. There's great history here and each room has a unique look. We'll definitely want to go here again!

Great food. Great staff. Fun place. The oldest establishment in Savannah, was a true pirate bar back in the day. The inn has many stories from the day and supposedly some haunts. My waiter helped me compile a selection of rum for a flight, from their numerous selection. Great experience. Hope to go again.

Great food. (Get the chicken fried pork chops.) Great location. (They have parking!) Great history. (Oldest standing restaurant building in Georgia.) But the wait is terrible unless you make reservations, and the "pirate crew" is a little cheesy and aimed at tourists. Other then that, awesome choice!

PRETTY COOL OVERALL.
I am a skeptic of these "themed" restaurants. But this one has a legitimate historic significance and the service and food are better than you may expect. Plus, it is GREAT for kids aged 2-15.
That said: I realize the "vibe" here is 300-year old pirate house, but they could clean up the place bit the slippery floors and cobwebs are not necessary for the "authentic feel."
Large gift shop upstairs will help pass the time if there is a wait or you need something for the kids.
Prices are very reasonable. Our toddler loved the environment and we did not mind it either.response / report this review
