We had a guest in from out of town and wanted to show them how great Chicago nightlife is. $60 to sit outside in 32 degree weather for over an hour. Great bouncers! Will not be coming back until summer at the earliest
Super packed. The upstairs bar is the spot though. Plenty of room to dance bartenders were good too. Overall a hot spot.
Came here for porter Robinson after party, security was little tough. Saw them tell people to move upstairs when they clearly have seats in the bathroom lobby, seems a little ass backwards. But I enjoyed it. Okay layout, no real production but I kind of like that because the focus is on the music.
Good venue for EDM lovers and they bring different types of EDM not just one genre. I drive from Elkhart Indiana almost every week to escape reality here!
Came for the porn & chicken dance party and had the best time. Bartenders were rude and would not give free water except for one named Katie. She was the best. I celebrated my 21st there and the crowd was pretty decent for a Monday. The bathroom attendant was the sweetest. Definitely will be returning!!
Trashy, vulgar, bad crowd and that's just to start. Went in because the guy at the door sold it as the best night in Chicago , 3 minutes in and went for a refund saying nicely that it wasn't what he sold us and this guy gave us rude attitude, making racial comments and even laughing at us. When asked for the manager he said the manager was an Asian that did what he told him to and wasn't available. After talking to a nice security guy he understood our point and called for this "manager" called "five" , he gave us the very exact answers from the door guy but with a smile, I guess the door guy was right this "manager" was his dummy, they didn't even care we were from the industry and WE know real clubs and how the night business is done. Well this is why clubs go to hell , due to door guys that don't know how to treat people and so-called managers that are there just to collect a paycheck.
I'm usually not a sensitive person, but ghee, it's only so much condescending behavior I can take. The bounces were being very rude. A guy told me about a password from my home town. So I asked about a password. The bouncer started to refer to me be being able to pay for my hair, dreadlocks, that I have enough to get in. What does my hair have to do with anything, so rude. Despite my first rude encounter I still went in. I'm from Lombard, I'm bar hopping. The bar I went to on Hubbard street is about to close, so I revert back to "The Mid", because they close at four am, which is a great thing. I go back to the club, and the bouncer insinuates I don't have ten dollars to get in😔😒 I've never been felt so violated and character assassinated in my life. I felt so uncomfortable I didn't even want to go in.
First time at The Mid and a nightclub in general. Came here to see Dash Berlin and was not disappointed. Got there early(bit too early to be honest) but the time definitely flew by as the night went on. The staff were generally very friendly. The drink prices are pretty high(22 dollars for two shots) so make sure you go after payday. The establishment/dance floor is really small and feels smaller when a lot of people show up. Those stupid VIP booths take up half the space other than that this is not a bad place to have fun on a Friday or Saturday night.
I only go because they get all the good shows. The venue on the other hand sucks.
Had a lot of fun at this club with the Dutch duo 'Sick Individuals'. Club is well kept and atmosphere is good. The sound was way, way too loud though. It is adviseable to take ear protection. I was very glad I had some with me and the fun is not any less, at least not for me :-)
Read other reviews. If you RSVP for free tickets, be sure to get there early. Barcode won't scan after 11:30, be prepared for lines. Cover $20. DJ was great and club very clean. Bouncers did their job well, helpful, not rude. Pre-game a lot before. Drinks all over $10 and weak. You pay per shot, not total drink so bill adds up quick. Dress code casual-dressy. There was a wide range.
Had rsvp tickets for free admission until 11:30. Arrived at 11:15 and was told we could not enter and to wait in one of the lines. Had to wait until 12:00 and when we went to enter was told that we now had to re-buy tickets for $20 each. Instead we quickly bought tickets on the website for $10 each. They don't follow the rules stated on the tickets. Let bouncers decide the "rules" so plan accordingly. Additionally, they should not sell "free" tickets if they are not going to honor.
Some people have real beef with The Mid, but every time I've gone it's been a good time. You'll find some pretty good DJs here for a more than fair price. Drinks are typically priced for the club scene in Chicago, water is $5 which I think is ridiculous. But it's not enough to ruin my night. I would recommend this place!
