My favorite museum in NYC. I was fortunate enough to live in walking distance of this place and always loved coming here. The place is huge and there’s so much to look at. Plan on having a lot of time set aside if you any the full experience. If you’re trying to decided what museum to go to I’d recommend this one. Admission is donation based which is great if you cannot afford a lot. My favorite part are the reconstructed rooms - it makes you feel like you’re waking around in a castle. 🏰

Love it. I will never tire of visiting this place--so much to see and discover. The care and preparation put into every exhibit is exemplary. Their app could be less confusing, which caused an overlap with another commitment we had planned that day, but customer service did their best given the covid compliance restrictions. The place is just rich with artistry and, of course, you must visit again, and again, and again

Museum is at a limited capacity giving you a better opportunity to see things as long as you may need to enjoy artwork. Huge building with an enormous archive of art. Definitely wear comfortable shoes. You’d probably need more than a day to really look through the museum. Great for a date!

The MET is the most visited museum in New York. They’re open now and tickets should be reserved ahead online. Face covering is a must and temperature check before entering. Weekends get a bit crowded so weekdays work better if you don’t like crowds. Do check out Jacob Lawrence in the modern gallery and the Lattice Detour show on the roof garden- both great exhibition!

The Met is a national treasure of such tremendous scope that it seems impossible to ever have enough time to fully appreciate all of the exhibits. Take heart, as it is organized in a fashion that allows one to appreciate it bit by bit. Pro tip: the group entrance (to the far left of the main entrance) is less crowded and remember tickets are good for three consecutive days.

I didn't read anything of this museum before my visit, so I had no idea what to expect. Once I arrived I couldn't believe how big it is. You will find all kinds of art and so much to see. I recommend a minimum of 4 hours to have a look around. I don't think its possible to visit only once. Price is suggested, a donation. They suggest $25, but you can pay what you want. It is totally worth it $25, but its up to you. If open, don't miss the rooftop and enjoy a beautiful view.

The metropolitan museum is one of the most impressive museums in the world. It’s only fault lies in the fact that it is easy to get lost in its corridors. Works of art range from ancient to contemporary. They have a great impressionist collection and some wonderful works by Rodin. They do provide free tours so if you are new to the museum I would recommend taking one. Check the website for times and topics. They offer Pay what you can tickets if you line up and buy them. If you purchase express tickets then you will not have the pay what you can option. They have restaurants which are reasonable. The museum is well placed, in Central Park so we always walk through the park before we spend the day looking at great art, You cannot come to New York and not go to the Met.

The metropolitan museum of art was simply outstanding. Seeing all the famous work of arts that you only see in textbooks floors you the moment you see it.

Fair warning that the museums is absolutely enormous, and should not be attempted in one go. I️ would recommend doing a couple of hours, and returning later. If you rush through it you will not be able to appreciate the beauty of it all.

Look at the google review ratings. When I am typing this the rating is at 4.8 out of 5 with 8645 people reviewing it. This is the highest rating I think I have seen on google. This is one of my favorite museums in the world. If you only go to one museum here this is the place. Be sure to go to the roof top patio - great view of central park and the city and no you don't have to buy something to look. You will NOT be disappointed with this museum.

ADMISSION COST - the person that reviewed this museum before me (should be the review below this one) suggested the museum is somewhat free. This means it is by donation. They suggested you pay $1. This is insulting unless this is only what you can afford. The suggested donation last time I checked was $25 for an adult, $17 for seniors and $12 for students. And it is worth every penny although you can pay what you wish.

I was completely blown away by the collection of modern European art at the Met. In the field of art since 1800, it is, in my experience, better stocked than any museum in the world. You walk into room after room filled with nothing but masterpieces, by the best of the best. It is well-curated. with good explanations of the paintings, and the building itself is excellent. I could not recommend the museum more. If you turn up on the day, they have a 'pay-what-you-like' policy, with a suggested donation of $25. I paid $10, and was not made to feel guilty for it!

What a lovely place. Probably the biggest and most diverse museum I've seen. Entrance is (was?) voluntary contribution. The pieces of art in this and the seasonal exhibits are wonderful. Give the Terrace Room a try, you'll get one of the best New York skyline view (especially for the price of the access which is free). There was a huge terrace-filling artwork there when I went, don't know if it's always like that.

Best. Museum. Ever. It's the largest museum in the US and entrance is based on a free offer. They have a huge permanent collection (it's hard to get everything done in a single day) and very interesting special exhibitions. I would recommend to get there with a plan. Plus, see if you can find the 'secret' access to the rooftop for more art, drinks, and amazing views of the park/city!

It's an amazing huge museum. Have a very nice breakfast, wear a very comfortable shoes and be there early as it will take the whole day without even finishing it all.

You will have history from all ages. Painting from all ages. Many exhibits and classes to learn new things.

If you live in NY a membership would be a great value but if you can't afford it they would not mind you pay $2 at the entrance or get in free as they have time for free.

The museum has a few gardens and an amazing rooftop where you can enjoy the view over Central Park and fifth Ave.

It's a must if you are visiting New York as it is a mind blowing and a very powerful experience.

A museum which resides within four city blocks , it is huge in every single mean of the word. Have a nice breakfast wear something really really comfy and be prepared to spend the whole day in there.
I saw things from different eras which I had no idea about and/or did not imagine to see it there. Do not miss the Egyptian and the European wings also the old Greek Roman history hall. It's amazing
I do recommend this place to be visited even if your are just passing by NYC and you do only have 2 days in the city.

Amazing museum. You'll need several full days to get a good feel for the place.
We've been five times now, and I'm just starting to get familiar with where things are.
The best part is the Egyptian wing, followed by the Greek wing.
See if you can find the electrum vase.

Great museum with an amazing collection. You could easily plan to spend all day here. The audio guide is available for free on your phone if you want to take you own headphones. The admission is also only a suggested price, so anyone can afford to go. I would suggest heading up to the roof, it has some great views over Central Park.

Incredible place. Wear comfy shoes. Avoid the cafeteria. Sign up early and go on one of the Oasis Tours if you can. True deep history behind everything you are seeing. We had people who weren't even on the tour, following us around to listen to our guide.

Amazing museum with so many of the world's masterpieces. We enjoyed a leisurely 4 hours here and I'm sure we only scratched the surface but we got to see all our must-sees. I highly recommend making a list of your must-sees and planning a route with their online map so you don't leave with any regrets! Great date!

World-class museum. Not sure if this is a permanent addition, but last visit I found a second museum store filled with sale and out-of-season merchandise from the fabulous and very high-quality main museum store. The cafeteria wasn't a bargain, but was fairly priced for NYC, and the food was great, better than I remember it being from back when the cafe used to be on the main floor (now turned into a gallery).
The Met is a can't-miss experience. I love it and couldn't book a plane ticket to New York without planning time there.
