Great variety of food. Im vegetarian and always find something amazing to eat. The staff is friendly unless you sit at the bar. The bartenders aren't the most attentive. The kid's menu is very expensive for the food the kids get. I wouldn't recommend this place for kids unless you go upstairs to K2.

I am not sure what all the buzz is about this place, it is just an average place. I would say pass on here. The menu is just like any other menu you would find in the area, the atmosphere is maybe cool if you are into the historic but wants to be more modern restaurant.

We had the entire upstairs level for a private party. All staff were very attentive, food and beverages were excellent. Only problem was the noise level with eighty people all talking at once!

Our waiter started us out nicely in The Grill Room then never showed again for possibly 40 minutes. Another server gave us our food and didn't know who ordered what, so we had to help out. Later our waiter breezed by so quickly that we replied yes food is great, and he left no water refills, no bread refills, no drink orders.We finished up and waited, waited, waited for the check. Our waiter was having the time of his life at a front window table with some happy gentlemen. Eventually the check arrived. June, 2017.

The place has a nice atmosphere but was worn down with the tape holding up things starting to peel. I paid $15 dollars for a burger and fries. That is a lot for a burger and fries and I expected a good burger especially since this was their signature Kirby burger recommended by the hostess. It was one of the most disappointing burger I have had in a long time. It was small with a rather bland bun and greyish meat and the helping of fries was quite small. The bar area looked nice with a goodish selection but this is not a place to go for the food.

We usually sit on the deck of k2 and it is awesome. Great wood fired pizza and the staff we have encountered is always on point. Great place to enjoy dinner with family or friends or just grab a few drinks and enjoy the view of the river and lake.

The overall aesthetic is amazing. Love the writing on the walls and all the artwork hung up. Live music was 10/10. Loved jamming along with the music while eating. Food was amazing (fries are to DIE for). Offers lots of gluten free and vegan options. Service was fast and good. Cute place overall. Loved it :)

Service was poor. One waitress insulted me without provocation, and another was just plain rude and ignored me for about 30-45 minutes. Didn't feel welcome here even though I was part of a large wedding party. Definitely won't be coming back anytime soon.

It's a Gilmore Collection restaurant. Ambiance is cool, service & food OK, prices a touch high. If you can get a seat overlooking the channel it's totally worth it.

Really hit or miss with the service (especially in the summer). Pizza is consistently good, all the rest of the food is also hit or miss, usually on the bland side. Great location with the rooftop patio.

As a local, we go to Kirby quite a bit. (This review only for Kirby portionnot K2 upstairs, or Grill Room next dooror Dark Room downstairs.)
Overall, it tends to be hit or miss. Sometimes 5 star, sometimes 3 or 2( or less?) on bad nights. Good place to go if you have eaters who can't agree on what type of food to eat. The menu is very diverse. To ensure the best experience, stick to 'safe' menu options in what I would call "average fare". These would be things like Nachos (5 stars for nachos!), Burgers, Soup and Salad..maybe a stir-fry.
Also, the busier it is in town, you'll see the star rating drop. Sometimes the staff seems very overwhelmed, especially in early summer season when the tourism rush starts to kick in and they try to find their groove. You may also find the kitchen running out of menu options around the same time.
I see a lot of reviews here talking about menus upstairs and downstairs but be forewarned that you cannot cross menus!!! But, oh how I wish they would. Even with simple options like a salad from upstairs, don't bother to askyou can't get it downstairs. Pizza downstairs? Not a chance. They are very much separate restaurants and servers will not commute your food from one to the otherunless you do the winter pizza buffet when they serve pizza and pasta downstairs. (Hey Kirby: do this all the time! Its great! And open up your menus! Get a few runners to hike the stairsdownstairs people like pizza too! )response / report this review
