You cannot beat the atmosphere. The food is rich, delicious, and comforting. The wait staff is helpful and friendly. Highly recommend.

I had the pleasure to visit this establishment for a small wedding reception in the outdoor garden area. While the area is private and lovely, it was incredibly hot the middle of August. The waitstaff was very attentive and our starters yummy (chosen by the bride and groom). Several of us received meats that were overcooked. Not just a little, but a lot! A requested rare rack of lamb arrived well done. Yuck. And a rare filet mignon almost well done. Perhaps a new line cook, or, it was so hot outside it cooked as they were bringing it to us. Drinks were outstanding as were the desserts. I would try this place again if we're in town again..if even just for the waitstaff!

Traditional irish meals in a comfortable setting. Excellent prime rib. Blarney balls are a must try. Reservations are highly recommended.

Great fish & chips seasoned well and the fries were perfectly crispy. One thing you must try is the Blarney Puffballs starter, which is deep-fried potato balls made with a cheese & garlic mixture, served with sour cream and chives. Delicious!

I love the bar and feel of this establishment. It really feels like a UK pub downstairs. Great UK beer and whiskey selection. Puffballs are amazing. Love the prime rib. Also, love that they have Scottish beers like Skull Splitter and Irish beers like Kilkenny. Outside seating is so nice. Feels like Europe.
I only have two complaints.
One: why is the dart board not in a place where it can be used? This is such a loss for a pub in my opinion. They could have tournaments like the do in pubs accross the pond especially if got one or two more dart boards. Plus, that would bring in more people.
Two: They have ok vegetarian options. They have an asian stir fry, a veggie wrap, and a pasta. Nothing even close to Irish Pub food. If they would just experient with TVP they could easily make veggie shepherd's pie, veggie burgers, and at least one or two soups that are veggie friendly like cream of broccoli, cream of potato, minestroni, french onion soup.
I would love to go to the Lion more, but because of the lack of creativity for vegetarian options I don't get to. My wife is a vegetarian and has been bored of the veggie options for years. She loves the environment too and would like to go more often too. If you all add a couple changing veggie options that at least feel like pub food we would go more often. I would also gladly give you all 5 stars if you do this or at the bare minimum put the dartboard somwhere that can be used.response / report this review -

Probably my most favorite place to eat in Indiana. I'll drive an hour from home just to eat here.

I absolutely love this restaurant. the food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. the lower bar portion can be a little tight but i think it adds to the character of the pub. The upstairs is very roomy and family friendly.

Long time favorite on Kirkwood in a historic building and with a solid Irish themed menu. Many great beers on tap and specialty cocktails. A good variety of foods for all tastes. Service is always friendly and usually fast.

The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 was that our server was a little placid you could tell he did not want to be there. To be fair, it was late on a Sunday night and he was probably a student, so I am guessing he would rather have been elsewhere.response / report this review -

The food is best in town for pub food. Drinks are reasonable. It gets a little crowded but the staff keeps up.
