One of the dogs we looked at bit my wife in the leg twice. He was still a puppy but the employees there put alot of trust in these animals. The facility is big and pretty nice but yes it smells like dogs.

The volunteers here are so helpful and friendly! Love this shelter! You can tell they really love the animals, too, and want them all to have good homes. My mom adopted a dog from them and the process was smooth and pleasant. Make sure to get pre-approved, though, if youre adopting, because you may go to the shelter and fall in love with a dog or cat, but you can't adopt them until your application is approved. They have a policy where they don't hold the animals for anyone, so it's best to just submit your application before you go visit. We didn't, and the first dog we loved was adopted by someone else before we got approved.

This is the worst humane society I've ever been to. I filled out an application over a month ago which took them over 3 weeks to get approved because they "over looked" it. Then they sit there and tell me there's no holds on pets there but every time I ask about one they're holding it for people that still need their applications approved and saying it's because they have that pets name on the application which I was never told I needed to do to "get in line" for a specific pet. These people will never get any money from me. So done.

Good setup esp compared to other shelters, didn't smell bad. Dogs obviously know and love the people that take care of them. Staff and volunteers seemed relaxed it fosters a nice experience. Loved the cattery rooms.

I was nervous the first time I walked through the shelter until I saw a dog in the meet and greet room. The next time I made a visit to see another dog I really saw how friendly all the dogs are. They just bark to get out. Also, the workers there were very helpful, especially "John", and answered all questions. The place is kept so clean, they walk the dogs often and feed them regularly. I would recommend anyone who wants to adopt a dog to go there and find a beautiful dog that needs a home and will make a great companion.

We are very sad that they took 7 years to rescue Poe, a neglected dog, only after PETA got involved. The director was going to euthanize him immediately, but it turned out that he only had cage aggression and was only aggressive towards other dogs, not people. They did not even bother training him to get used to other dogs after 7 years of isolation. Unfortunately, he attacked a dog while out on a walk with a volunteer. The dog needed medical attention but survived. The Humane Society eould not give Poe a sevond chance, and killed him on October 26. We all loved him. He could have just worn a muzzle on walks as a precaution. They failed him for 7 years and failed him again. The director and board members should be replaced with people who see the dofs as indivuduals, not liabilities.

I HAVE A COMPLAINThow do you know if you like the dogs If you cant pet them. its not just like you take them home and say oh I don't like it, get me a refund they need to let you pet the dogs so you know If you have a connection, and personally I think the kennels need to be more homey.For example MORE BLANKETS my dog loves to curl up under blankets and so has every dog I have had DOG TOYS I don't think I've seen one dog toy while I was thereI am done for now or I will keep going for hours

On a Friday afternoon the humane society took my daughter's pets that were named hammy pepper Jack tiny and king. When I got a call from my daughter she found a note from the humane society and it said that 2 cats and 2 chiawaws were found abandoned. So I called and the guy and he was being rude until he heard my daughter crying then he said we have to Clean are house over the weekend and on Monday he was going to call me. So it's Monday morning and I still haven't gotten a call I went on Google and I came across when the humane society opened Monday's are closed.

The BC Humane Society is the BEST shelter in the area hands down. The staff has got it together in this dog eat dog world. The new cruelty officer is absolutely fabulous. Please keep continuing to support Karen and her staff. They need all the help we can give.

We applyed for a dog and even picked the dog and that was last Wednesday they didn't even check are references they just gave her to someone else both me and my boyfriend wanted that dog so I'm never going threw these people again I understand they want to help animals but the way they are doing is wrong why even pick a animal they will just let someone else have it

Pretty small overall and in a nook. You definitely have to use a GPS to get to it. Staff and volunteers are excellent! Animals are exceptionally socialized and friendly.
