Ive been a regular for about 5 years and am sad to sayMeh. It's ok as a decent not-sure-what-else-to-do spot. Food is actually pretty good, but the service has gone steadily down hill in the last year or so, and the recent change from a bar to a self-serve beer tap wall has ruined what was a farm-elegeant ambience. If you just like trying lots of beers, it is pretty cool, but it's no longer the slightly upscale and reliable restaurant it used to be.
I had brunch in the new Heights Taproom. The food is very similar to when it was the heights except for the addition of the sushi bar and the new taps. Overall the food was good. We shared the French toast sticks with the pecan dip. It was tasty. My girlfriend got the turkey burger with avocado which was actually really good. I ordered the waffle which was spot on.
Overall good service, good food, good atmosphere
Food is sufficient. Decent beer selection with a self-serve option. There is only room for about 4 people at the bar but additional seating is available.
No idea what happened to this place. Had a great happy hour, but walked in the other day to find the bar closed with self-serve beer taking its place. Looks awful. Makes me wonder what happened to the bartenders. And sushi? I don’t get it. Taproom and sushi don’t seem to work.
The taproom gimmick of pour-your-own beer was annoying. It's hard to do that without being a trained bartender and not get half a glass of foam. One of the servers was great, one couldn't be bothered, and I wasn't sure who exactly was my server to begin with - although we never had to wait super long to get service. Food was ok. Nothing was gross, but nothing either one of us had made us want to finish it or come back. I just don't get the concept and feel there are better options nearby (like meridian pint) that are better.
Unattendiv service, blend, uninspired food. Consistently less than mediocre. Good location. Sandwiches are on the save side to eat, not to be to disappointed. Not expensive, so it doesn't hurt that much.
The Heights has the elegance of a date spot, while maintaining the friendliness of a local watering hole. I have enjoyed business lunches here just as much as the happy hours.
Every time I go there it's a new and good food experience. Nice staff!
The place was empty on a Monday night, the food was very slow and not that good. My salad was wet and droopy with almost no dressing on it. It was pretty gross. Also, we sat at the bar and the bartender stood directly in front of us the entire time but didnt speak to us. It made it hard to have a conversation. The only positive was that the building itself is very nice.
The food that comes out of the kitchen at The Heights is decent enough. It's even inventive and good, at times. However, the service is horrendous. The place should be shut down for the way that its servers treat single guests, especially those of us who are over the age of 40. Arrogance, rudeness, and ageism are ugly, even when coming from pretty young things, folks.
Great brunch menu, friendly team. Definitely recommend the friend chicken and waffles. Delicious.
I ordered my meal on 2/14/17 about 40 minutes prior to the time I planned to pick up. Although the venue was semi busy with sit-down patrons I was tended to promptly and directed to the bar to pick up my order which was already packaged and hot. I was helped by about 3 different people who ran around gathering all my condiments and making sure my bill was adjusted promptly because I was charged for an extra meal I didn't order. I ordered the Cajun pasta meal with chicken (the dish comes with shrimp but the restaurant gladly gave me the chicken substitute with no problems) and the braised beef ribs meal. The food was AMAZING.. like lick your fingers good. It was so good I ate half of my pasta as soon as I got home and about a hour later pulled it out the fridge and demolished it without even warming it up (as did my friend who demolished the rib dish). 5 stars for customer service and 5 stars for quality of food.. I definitely will eat here again hopefully for dine-in so I can take in the atmosphere as well!
Great spot and good food. We went for brunch and had a nice time with delicious choices. Will definitely come back.
