We moved to the City from the burbs in January of 2016. We were looking for a place we could call home and in the heart of the city. We found 425 MASS on our own after extensive research. We are happy to say we just signed on for year three. We love the location and our apartment and the complex has all the amenities we need. Working with the staff at 425, Dwight & Team, Johnson, Yolanda, Carolyn, Katherine, Kelsey and the entire team here has been a pleasure. They are responsive and work with you to ensure your needs are met. I would highly recommend 425 MASS to anyone looking for a great place to call home! Joe & Tracey
I only recently moved in, however my experience has been amazing so far! I love my room, everyone is very nice and relatively social, and the gym is great. The move-in process was pretty easy and the whole building is extremely hospitable. I already feel at home- even without having moved in much furniture yet.
Great staffing to really ensure a welcoming environment. Friendly neighbors and conveniently located in the heart of Washington, DC.
1) Severely overpriced
2) Parking garage open to the public
3) Building not maintained well
4) First floor units facing Eye Street have mold contamination
5) Office staff are idiotic corporate puppets that have no functioning brain cells
Good luck living peacefully if you decide on living here!
This is a beautiful building and it's walking distance to everything. The grocery store, movie theater, shopping and restaurants are all walkable. The apartments are really nice and I loved my balcony. Highly recommend!
An update to this review is coming very soon.
A property priced properly so that you'd think everything is in order—but this is a modern day version of highway robbery. 425's motto: Take $$$$, and give ¢¢¢¢! The management team is tricky, combative, two-faced and generally unresponsive. If you owe them something, you'll hear about it everyday and then receive a court summons. If they owe you something, best believe that they'll be praying, banking, wishing and chanting that you'll just forget about it—and don't bother bringing it up, they'll just ignore you.
425 Mass is not recommended to anyone interested in a headache-free life.
Lived here 2012-2015 in 2br. den. I do not have a single complaint about the building OR leasing office. (Frankly I did not deal with the leasing office outside of lease negotiation/renewals.) The building was built as high end condos and due to the completion date/recession it was acquired by equity (current owner) and marketed as rentals. Because of this, these apartments are built to a higher standard. I never heard my neighbors nor traffic noise (12th floor.) The closets are huge with built in lighting in each one. The first hint at the build quality is the weight of the front doors. I never had issues with maintenance. During my residence, the building received all new roof furniture throughout the massive roof. There is a kitchen up there with 3 large gas grills. The fitness center equipment was also replaced during my residency. Both the roof and fitness center did not need these updates but they were well received. Highly recommend building and regret moving out.
BUILDING IS NOT MAINTAINED.
Don't judge a book by its cover. Just because the building might look good on the surface does not mean there are not serious problems within. Choose a different location. Trust me. You and yours will be MUCH happier in any of the nearby complexes that will value the well-being of their tenants. The other neighborhood buildings have prices equal to 425, they will be more upfront about their monthly fees, and most importantly, by living elsewhere, you will you avoid a whole lotta' heartache. Believe me.
We've been living here for 3 years and love it! The apartments are spacious, beautiful and modern, and we have a stunning northern view! The amenities are also great - from the common areas, storage space and gym, to the best rooftop in all of DC! We've also had an incredibly positive experience with the staff here at 425 Mass. Throughout the years, they've gone the extra mile to make us feel at home and are quick to address any issues we encounter. 425 Mass is a great place to live!
