  My fiancé and I went to the Flame BBQ for the second time and it was disaster of an experience. The first time we went, we thought the food was decent and was worthy of a repeat visit. We called and placed an order on the phone for a takeout order. We went to pick it up and took it back home to eat it. When we got back to our apartment, we took the food out of the containers and I noticed the ribs didn't look right. We had ordered baby back ribs and they looked like they had given us spare ribs by accident. Plus they were really dry and tough. So we went back down to the restaurant to see if we could get the resolution corrected. Now bare in mind, I am not a person that takes back food. I'm not looking for any kind of free bee. I was really in the mood for ribs and thought they would have good baby back ribs. When we went back to the restaurant, the owner was very rude to us. He had a bad attitude from the moment we stepped in the door. He said, what's the matter with the food in an awful tone. I explained to him, that it looks like you gave us spare ribs by accident and that I had wanted baby back ribs. He proceeded to tell me that they were baby back ribs. I also told him they were dry and chewy. He said they looked ok to him. I was getting irritated at this point. I just wanted my money back. I was actually going to say can we get another substitution, but after his awful attitude I decided I didn't want anything from him ever again. So he did refund our money eventually. He never apologized and was even rude to his employee that worked for him saying "what did you do to the ribs"? Take accountability for the food you sell and learn how to take criticism. Not everybody is going to like the food you make. Get over it! If the situation was handled in a better way by the owner, I would definitely have gone back. But after the way he treated us, he has lost our business forever!

  Food is excellent! However, it states that they deliver but when I asked about it I got a big sigh and was told yes they diliver but it is such a hassle most people just pick it up. Since it was a rediculous request to have them deliver my order I decided to pick it up the day before cold and then heat it up during the party . When I asked suggested heating instructions I got another sigh and was told it was common sense. After picking my order up and spending almost 300.00 I wasnt even helped out to my car. Customer service goes a long way. Apparently they feel their food is good enough they dont need to be polite or deliver. If you dont want to deliver dont advertise that you do.

  Beef brisket and mac&cheese plate was good! Coleslaw was "okay" but not really that good. Need different dressing.. Staff was very nice!

  Very good creamy cole slaw, juicy tender pork and a sweet tangy bbq sauce! The place is small but the service was good.

  Excellent food. Friendly and personable owner. Takes pride in his food. Most items are homemade including sauces. Local produce and meats. Will drive an hour ( again) for this BBQ.

  I work nearby the Flame and eat there about twice a week the pulled pork is so good you don't even need sauce. The Miss Piggy pulled pork sandwich is huge and the rolls are fresh and tasty. The service is quick and in my opinion the best BBQ in Butler county.
