We really enjoyed our time living at the Edge Southend.

The apartments are beautiful and spacious.
We’ve only ever had a few instances where we could hear our neighbors and typically that’s from above us and they’ve always been kind when we approached them due to noise!

The amenities are great. The gym is clean and has great variety of equipment. The club room and game room are really nice as well.

It’s super convenient to have Harris teeter right across the way so you can just walk to get your groceries or if you forget an ingredient for your dinner!
You’re also, like stated in other reviews, not in the part of southend that would be noisy and disturb you. But you’re close enough to walk to desirable areas.

I do feel safe here which was very important to us with me being pregnant most of our lease and then having a newborn. The extra security is worth the annoyance of having to use a key for every door!

We genuinely would have stayed at the Edge but unfortunately the apartment complexes in southend are just a little out of range of what we’re willing to pay monthly!

But overall, I would recommend to live here.

The leasing agents, repair crew, and cleaning crew are all incredibly kind people and I always enjoy any interaction I have with any employee at the Edge!

I just signed for my second year at the Edge and couldn't be happier with it. I want to do it justice so I will warn you that this review will be long. I have to mention the leasing agents and maintenance staff first, because they are ALL exceptionally nice; even by "friendly Charlotte" standards. They're here for the residents, and it shows. Now, there are a few major things I want to share that to me differentiate this property from other very nice rentals I've lived at in South End -

1.) It's one block off of South Blvd, instead of right on top of it. You're a bit removed from the noise because of this, and if you're like me and REALLY don't want to listen to the cool crowd (I use that term broadly) revving their souped-up mufflers at all hours of the night, the rear of the building is exceptionally quiet and might be for you.

2.) The residents. I get it, each community is wonderful and unique in its own way, and to each their own. But in my experience, the residents here usually say hi, usually don't blast sub woofers like they're still in undergrad, and usually don't act like they're more interested in a selfie on the rail trail than being a courteous neighbor.

3.) If you somehow didn't notice, Harris Teeter is next door and open until 10 for 7 days a week. You're welcome.

4.) Oh yeah. The security. IMO, this place is a FORTRESS. I'll explain. The exterior doors are locked. The parking garage gates are locked (key fab gate opener). And in case someone somehow gets past the garage gate, every door on every floor leading from the parking deck staircases to the halls is locked. Rather take the elevator instead of the stairs from the deck? Ha! Those doors are locked too. Even the club room is locked, as is a door that leads to the mail room, and the ski ball room is locked too. Did I mention we have a SKI BALL room?!?!

In summary, it's really nice here and I love it. It's a bit more relaxed than some other places nearby, but that's a lot of why I like it so much.

I toured The Edge back in March and signed a lease immediately. The decor, amenities, and friendly staff were what sold me! Natalie gave me my tour, and I left feeling welcomed and ready to make the transition. Everyone in the office - Meghan, Victoria, & Harris - and Fran & Vini - are all FABULOUS! If I have any requests or concerns (which is rare), they are all very attentive to my needs. I love the club room, pool, and dog park. The staff puts on great events and incentives on a monthly basis. Thank you for all you do!

I absolutely love my unit and some of the amenities. The community is great and the location is super. Also our leasing agent Victoria has been very helpful and friendly.

2 major gripes here

1. The apartment management can be inadequate in addressing pressing issues. I am a member of the armed forces and I needed a document emailed to my unit for pay purposes. It took nearly 2 weeks for the apartment community to address this, resulting in the loss of pay for the entire summer.

2. Beware, the security here is sketchy. If the building gets struck by lightning all the doors stop working. The parking garage is easily accessible by non-residents and personal property is stolen frequently. For instance my Bike was recently stolen from the bike storage amenity and many other residents have also had bikes stolen. The apartment community has done very little to address this issue or fix it. If personal property is stolen the apartment community will assist in creating a report, and giving you information, not much else. The apartment manager will additionally lecture you on the terms of your lease making sure that they let you know that they are not liable for items stored in areas they recommend storing items. I personally believe when given the opportunity to treat residents the moral method vs the legal method it generally pays off in the end with a moral method.

Honestly, amazing. I have lived here now going on 3 months! The property is always so clean, the walking distance to the light rail is awesome, and there is a Harris Teeter for all of your shopping needs right in your backyard. I love how close it is to the hustle and bustle of South End, but perfectly off the beaten path to where it is very quiet at nights. On top of the location and cleanliness are the staff. They are quite amazing. I have not had to interact with them too much, but when I have they have been extremely easy going and awesome to work with. I also don't want to leave out the maintenance team and cleaning lady who are always working keeping this place in tip top shape. Come check this place out!
