Party of three (2 adults, 1child) came in for late lunch on Saturday afternoon. We were seated as soon as a table was cleaned off, which was good because there is no where to wait. The place is jammed packed with furniture. We sat for 20 minutes. Not a single soul stopped to ask if we had been waited on, take our drink order, tell us they would be right with us, NOTHING. After 21 minutes, we gathered our things and walked out. Your host decided he should be snarky and said “have a nice afternoon” and when I ignored him, I heard him say “really?”. We were not rude or disrespectful and I was really surprised that he had anything to say at all considering he walked by us no less than 5 times during our stay and said/did NOTHING. We will not be returning.
A welcome addition to Pasadena! Great food and drinks at reasonable prices. The "PIRATE" theme and decor makes for a warm cozy atmosphere..at least for meas a Pirate. OVER 100 Rum's, some very rare, to sample by the shot glass and rotating local craft beers too! Yar!!
Delicious food and awesome ambiance! They have an amazing rum selection. The place is also very kid-friendly and has a plethora of decorations that a pirate-obsessed kiddo would love. The benches are the perfect height for both adults and small children, probably due to the semi-firm cushioning.
I love this place. Drinks are on point and the food is great. Everything is reasonably priced. Get the shipwreck burger if you dare. It's got grilled cheese sandwiches for bunsyup.
I love this place. They have the best staff and food. The fish and chips and fish tacos are amazing. As is the salad.
Paige the bartender is awesome
She pretty much knows what we drink and eat. They always put the O's game on if not on a tv we can see. This is our usual go to place
for date night. Also great music.
Went to Mutiny Pirate Bar for dinner this evening and had a great time, The food was exceptional and the service matched the food. Tonight there was a prix fixe menu that was top notch. Started with the Cannonballs, fried mac and cheese balls. They had to be made in house and were so delicious. Hubby had the onion rings and they were also fantastic, they came to the table looking like fat doughnuts but were really crispy with a nice sweet onion on the inside. Both were bites of heaven! The entrees, fish tacos and pulled pork sandwich were both crazy good and the portions were big enough that neither of us could finish. Desserts were key lime pie and rumchata cheesecake that we both ended up taking home and enjoying later. Service the whole evening was on point and friendly. Can't wait to check out the new location in Pasadena after they move but may not be able to wait until then to go back and try some of the other menu items. Highly recommend going to check it out!
Very impressed with this place. It feel more like a Tiki bar than a pirate bar, but I wasn't complaining. Their food is great, and the portions are almost too big, but I liked everything I ordered. I had the gumbo, which was awesome, and their mixed drinks are innovative and fun. They also have a HUGE rum selection, and the bartenders actually know about the different choices, which is great. I'm interested to see what their new location looks like.
What a fun place! It's a little off the beaten path through a small neighborhood, but definitely worth the drive. Its kitschy without being tacky. There were locals, suits, girls night out, couples, and singles - everyone was having a great time. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The menu has something for everyone and the drink offerings were tempting! My server, Lindsey, recommended the beer batteted onion rings - those were absolutely delicious. Would definitely come back!
Service was friendly and good, food was flavorful and well prepared, atmosphere was relaxed, consistent and inviting. Not a big place, and two larger groups were seated just before we arrived, so not surprised our meal took a little longer to come out. Portions were reasonable and fairly priced. It's a nice, Caribbean-themed bar that's worth visiting just for the food. We'll be back.
Amazing cocktails, tasty specials, and unique events! If you love rum or pirates. This is definitely the place to be. Weekly events like all-you-can-eat mussels, burger night, trivia, karaoke, and brunch will keep you coming back. Don't forget to ask about the Rum Passport and loyalty card.
I have been coming here regularly for a few months, maybe 2 months after they opened. I have had almost everything on the menu and not once have I been let down with the quality or the flavor of the food. They serve local craft brews from Clipper City as well as a few others, but they also have 120 some different bottles of rum. Do yourself a favor and get a passport and try every one of them. You will especially like Kilo Kai.
Update: 4 years later and this is still my favorite place. I just came back from 1.5 years overseas and this is the only place i wanted to come back to for food and good atmosphere. I get my wish tonight. I even had restaurants overseas attempt to create the Shipwreck burgerits the best burger ever.
Great atmosphere! ! Friendly people ( patrons and bartenders/servers) Awesome happy hour menu! Bar is laid out nicely with great selection on draft. Definitely will be back!
If you go, Ann is one of the best servers I've had!! The food is very good, the drinks are inventive (though I'm not the biggest rum fan). Their beer selection is, from what I can recall, most of your common stuff. I highly recommend the fried macaroni appetizer!
Great atmosphere. The rum selection was outstanding and the cocktails we had were superb. Food was solid, nothing outstandingbut completely good. The Calypso Fries were pretty terrific.
Note that you are driving into a residential area, so it will seem odd as you're driving down the road.
Our waitress was terrific and was considerate to our toddlereven brought her a toy to play with.
Give it a shot.
