I attempted to go with my friends to Recess tonight and they wouldn't allow my friend who decided not to continue his education at college to come in because they didn't want high schoolers and he didnt have a college ID. But its 18 and over sooo that doesn't really make sense considering I was 18 my senior year of high school. So maybe it should be called college and older. Basically I wasted a Lift there and back when we were all 18 and over.
It sounds like a great place for predators to pick up underage girls (and boys).
Unfortunately some of these older reviews are for Dunkirk, not Recess. Recess only opened within the past week or so. Keep this on mind when reading positive reviews as there is nothing positive to say about Recess. It's a shame Dunkirk closed- it was a great place and Recess is NOT.
Can't believe how unprofessional an 18+ nightclub could present itself to be within a week of it's inception. Disgusting behavior to be advocating. Get this s*** out of Bloomington.
Firstly, the old reviews of this establishment are not for Recess, they are for Dunkirk which has since been shut down, thus there should be a totally new page made for this business.
More importantly, this place uses underage girls as a marketing strategy which is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. They have since issued an apology, but it clearly means nothing as seen by the favorite of the tweet shown in this post. They have deleted my comment on their Facebook page. This place is disgusting and they can't face the wrath of what they've done and promoted.
This is a late night bar/ club that most students go to on Thursday, Friday and/ or Saturday. Music is always loud and they have bands that play there weekly. This is primary a club. There is almost always cover. A good time overall.
Nice little spot to grab a beer after work. Staff was friendly.
Bartenders were great. I'm not one to normally go to the frat bars but thoroughly enjoyed my time here.
Great music, best late night atmosphere in Bloomington
Always a blast here. Great place to chill with friends or catch the game. Definitely a B-Town staple. and for a reason.
