I loved doughrollers pizza and i am devastated when I heard that it closed because Dough roller was a different type of pizza. The pizza was nice and soft and it tasted the best and I have been to every pizza shop in Rehoboth. I will miss Dough roller and it is a big loss for Rehoboth Beach
dough roller is better than grotto
The place is very group and family friendly, happy and pleasant staff and good food especially the buttermilk pancake!
We were not impressed with this restaurant. We should have been tipped off by how empty it was at lunch time, but we were hungry and had already dismissed some other places.
Staff:
Our hostess was neither pleasant nor unpleasant, just sat us and put our menus on the table.
The waitress was pleasant, but gave one of us the wrong order at first, but quickly caught her mistake and switched it out. She was eating chicken nuggets at a table in between serving food, and did not wash her hands afterwards.
The (assumed) owner, the tall white guy in the kitchen wearing a pink shirt, was condescending to the waitress when she made a mistake. He was drinking a soda in the kitchen and kept it above food and literally almost touching the clean plates. He also did not wash his hands after drinking.
Cleanliness:
The floor in the kitchen was disgusting. Bits of food and trash out in the open and under the counters and refrigerator.
The whole kitchen looked like it could use a scrub down, but definitely wasn't the worst I've seen.
The men's room was filthy. Did not go in the women's room, so I cannot speak to that.
Food:
All of us were served fries even though two of us said we didn't want them. (They are an added $2 charge depending on what you order.) We were only charged for 1 of them though. Not sure what happened there.
Both types of cheese steaks were just "blah." Nothing special. I've had better at gas stations (Sheetz and WaWa). Chicken fingers were okay. The New Jersey was not good.
Everything was hot at least.
Well, except for the cheese pizza that had been sitting on one of the counters (not under a heat lamp) the entire time we were there. I only saw employees eating it though, as I would have said something had I seen them give that to a customer.
Overall, it was a pretty poor experience and I boil it all down to poor management and improper training. They were not remotely busy so there was no reason why someone couldn't be cleaning something. At the very least, the owner needs to teach the employees when to wash their hands! After they learn themselves, of course.
Just in this morning for breakfast. Would not recommend. Sausage not cooked,. Pancakes cold, veggies not cooked in omelette, under staffed, too many flies,. And the place was dirty! Terrible food for the price.
Give it 4 stars. Would be 5 if they didnt have such a douchebag of a manager/owner. My 2nd time back and he continues to berate the staff out on the floor. But the pancakes were awesome and our server was so delightful again. She was so good with our children and gave them toys from a treasure chest they have that helped keep them occupied. If you go ask for Nikki to be your server, you wont regret it.
