  UPDATE: I left the original review on 4/16/2023. The business responded on 5/8/2023 saying that they would be reaching out to address my concerns. It is now 5/31/2023 and I have not been contacted by anyone at the office.
  
  Unfortunately, this is just another dental office that cares more about money than patient care. The doctors here do not honor contracted rates with dental insurance companies, as they are legally bound to do.
  
  Firstly, I had a consultation for very mild orthodontic treatment. Impressions were taken, pricing was discussed and agreed upon. Yet somehow, the doctor never even looked at my teeth, as he was not even in the office that day for an appointment that had been scheduled weeks ahead of time. Out of hesitation, I asked for a pretreatment estimate to be sent to my insurance prior to moving forward. When the pretreatment estimate came back, after endless phone tag, I was blatantly lied to by front desk staff and a dental assistant (at the request of the doctor) and told that I was no longer a candidate for treatment - “per the dental lab”. After contacting the dental lab directly, the lab told me this was not at all true, and I later found out it was all because that doctor did not feel that he would make enough money off my case due to the contracted rate with my insurance.
  
  I asked to meet with another doctor at the practice, whom my husband knows personally, and gave several opportunities to rectify the situation. Somehow, the amount suddenly jumped $700. I called back multiple times asking for an explanation, and was brushed off by a different front desk person, another dental assistant, and the second doctor never returned my calls.
  
  But the straw that broke the camel’s back for me, was when I was illegally billed TWICE for a simple exam and cleaning (not even X-rays). I had to call and explain that they legally are not allowed to bill me for the difference in the rates with my insurance, due to the contract of being considered an in network provider with Aetna.
  
  I’m still debating on filing a formal complaint. I’m embarrassed that over the past year I have recommended this place to other people. My entire family - and my extended family - will be changing offices. It’s sad to think of how many people may have been taken advantage of here simply because they didn’t know any better.

  I've been seeing Dr. Doug and his team for about 30 years, along with Dr Czapala and Dr Matthei. They have always given me a pain-free experience. When I was younger and still getting cavities they let me take advantage of payment plans. They never try to force x-rays on me if my mouth looks and feels good. If you've had a bad experience elsewhere, I highly recommend giving this place a chance as they've always made me comfortable and actually look forward to visits.

  I’ve been going to the dental shoppe since I was 18. I needed a lot of work done in my mouth due to my childhood and from the start Dr.Langefeld has been working on my mouth and they have made me feel like family and Dr. Langefeld has done so much for me. I’m so grateful. Today I got my permanent crowns done and I’m so happy with them that I was actually crying of joy. I’ve worked so hard with Dr. Langefeld to get my mouth nice and pretty and be confident in my smile I’m not done but I am so beyond grateful to have them as my dentist.

  I am so grateful to Dr. Czapla. He helped me right away when I was in so much pain. I have been misdiagnosed by a different dentist months ago, who never even looked at my teeth, only at the x-ray his assistant took. Where Dr Czapla immediately knew what was up and took care of the problem that got out of control because of misdiagnosis by another person. I am so thankful that there are such great and caring professionals like Dr. Czapla. Over the years he helped us out with every dental emergency promptly and the experience was great! Thank you so much Dr. Czapla.

  I had a crown come off from a different dentist. Called and they saw me the next morning and cemented it back into place. It came off again a couple weeks later, at no fault of The Dental Shoppe and they did another repair, this time for no charge. Haven't had any issues since. Very friendly staff and dentists, I have seen two out of the three, with the exception of Dr. Langenfeld (I did hear him and he seems like a very nice guy). Very professional and took all necessary precautions with the current heath crisis. Highly recommended.
