I would of loved to get a Kinetico system, but my quote process left a lot to be desired. The people are nice but the sales approach is far from transparent and honest.

My salesperson originally quoted me $12k for a whole home softening system and a K5 drinking system, which is outrageous.

Since I wanted to do business with them, I shared a quote from Shelton’s that was $7k taxes included when we closed on our home about a year prior. When we compared the quotes, there was a $1000 difference between the two systems quoted, so my salesperson said he could do it for $8k and we agreed since that seemed fair.

Turns out the quote was actually for $8660 because the sales guy didn’t include tax even though the numbers we were discussing from my previous quote were including tax.

Seemed a bit deceptive and a bit of a bait and switch so we decided to not move forward. The whole process left a lot to be desired and felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. I also had some questions about the differences between two systems for my home that weren’t answered clearly and left me questioning whether I was truly getting the best system for my application. I tried calling Kinetico directly to clear up my questions and they stated that was the responsibility of their vendors, in this case Shelton’s.

It’s unfortunate, but best of luck to anyone else looking for a Kinetico system.

We have Sheltons K5 water softener and RO. Bob and Will suggested this when we were wrapping building our new home 6 months ago and we couldn’t be happier. Low maintenance, low salt consumption, small footprint and big results! We have zero build up in our dishwasher and all of our faucets. The one outside faucet that doesn’t provide treated water streaks leaves streaks and spots on anything it touches and the sprinkler head has a lot of build up. We have poor water here and go under an occasional water boil so it’s comforting to know that my family is protected from junk in the water and we don’t have to deal with boiling the water. If you’re looking for the best water treatment system for your business or home, Kinetico is top notch and Shelton’s technicians are all very informative and helpful.

Very disappointed that it has been almost a year and they still haven’t got our water, right
Then I was told that we would have a notification on our filters for the inside water filters there is not. So I called for them to come out and see what the problem was because there was no water flow the changed the filters . No a C big issue . They charged $150 for being outside DFW. They never have charged before or have ever mentioned this ?
Very disappointed , I didn’t have the option to change the myself

Last November they came to install a water softener in our new house. They didn't know much about this, they just installed the softener and it wasn't working properly. We've been using Hardwater for 5 months, even though we've already paid for it.

Even the drinking water was installed incorrectly and water was dripping down the sink. There was serious mold growing under the sink in our house for more then 4 months. We lived almost 5 months with that much fungus.

Our children have weak skin. My first one had severe skin rashes and had to go to the pediatrician.

Two new employees came to fix it again. They only fixed it, and the mold was roughly wiped with a paper tissue. I asked to wipe it again several times. Finally, the third staffs came. They tested the water and informed us that we had been cooking and bathing in hard water for over 4 months. I was very angry.

We always used soft water at our old house but it didn't leave a pink mark. However, while using this company's product, pink water marks were left in every shower room. I was so puzzled and didn't seem to be working, so I was about to contact this company. They just painted under the sink with a brush, but the wood had already rotted and they just painted over it. Needless to say, this house is brand new. We have to live with these molds covered in paint. It's a very upsetting situation.

In addition, while fixing it, they accidentally touched the food disposal of our sink and it doesn’t work after them. We have to wait another few days to fix this again without any compensation.

I think they should definitely reward us. I also think we should provide for the cost of rebuilding the wood of the sink that was damaged by mold because of them.

I hope they call me ASAP to make it up everything.

Great customer service and great products. We've had the works put into our home. We've installed the Home Softener, Chlorinator, UV, and RO system in our kitchen. Prior to purchase and installation, Will ensured that everything was understood as to the benefits of each part of our system. Everything was installed without a problem (Trey and Javier) and has worked as advertised. The folks that have come out for follow-up service (Kyle) have all been very knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. After a lengthy evaluation of the marketplace, I'm glad I chose Shelton's Water with Kinetico products.
