The Crab Trap is truly a restaurant gem of St. Simons Island! Always great servicewith no wait tonight. Our waitress even remembered my Dad's custom sweet tea drink order from his last visit. Excellent scallops, great Cole slaw and really thick battered crunchy fries to write home about! Been coming here since I was a teenager! Always great seafood located within walking and biking distance to other shops, eateries and of course the beautiful beach!

One of my favorite places on the island. The crab soup and long island teas are my must order when visiting here. Fried shrimp and battered fries are excellent!

First time eating here and came with a group. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. Returned the following day to get the same meal for takeout. The food came out in less the five minutes and the shrimp smell filled the car as I returned to the hotel. Half the shrimp was past their prime. Had to be the absolute last day for the Cole slaw as it had a sour vinegar taste. Very disappointed and the meal 20+ bucks too. Ate a leftover sandwich and called it a night. Should have returned it all. My room and car smelled awful the next day.

This place was great! I ordered the Maryland Blue Softshell Crab dinner with cheesy grits. I got my crabs fried and my dad ordered them blackened. I definitely recommend getting them blackened but they were good both ways! Service was excellent. The one bad thing was the cheesy grits had way too much cheese in them. The only flavor was cheddar and you couldn't enjoy the texture and flavor of the grits as much. The hushpuppies and coleslaw were also excellent.

Shrimp and grits is one of my all-time favorites. The crab trap really gets that craving for me. Freshly shucked oysters are bomb. The only reason why I'm only giving this a 4-star instead of a 5-star is because my family thought it was only ok for the price range between $18-26 and to be honest I agree with them, their food was either bland or over salted and very oily. However the shrimp and grits are amazing!

Great serviceno wait tonight. Waitress remembered drink order from last visit. Excellent scallops, great Cole slaw and thick battered fries! Been coming here since I was a teenager! Always great seafood!

The service was good, but the food was not. The seafood casserole was soupy and extremely fishy, and the shrimp and grits left a lot to be desired. For prices starting at $20 a head, I expect a lot better standard. Miss this place if you can help it.

Awesome food. Every single items on our group of 9 table was great. We were going to do Crab Daddy's but was a 2hr wait. So we went to Crab Trap & glad we did. Excellent food & service!!

The food has not changed in twenty years . Crab soup was on point, scallops cooked to perfection and the service was great . Love the ice cubes by the way . Classsic !

We were trapped by the Crab Trap. Service was great. Food was horrible. Crab soup had a pound of butter or oil floating on top. Deviled crab cake was not fully cooked with very little crab meat. Best thing on the plate was the fries. Hubby just said it was one of the worst two places we have eaten in during our 24 years of marriage!!! Would not recommend.

I am the pickiest person on the planet and as a former server I am serious about timely service. This place had the best food and best service I've had anywhere, in a long time. My friend and I got the chicken strips, someone else got the fish tacos, another guy got shrimp and grits and my husband got the shrimp plate. We barely spoke to each other the whole dinner. Everyone in our group said how amazing their food was. The service was perfectly timed, nothing was forgotten and we were seated immediately as a party of 5. I highly recommend this as a dinner option while on the island.
