The hotel was very clean and nice. The staff was all very friendly. The location was perfect for exploring downtown Indianapolis. I would stay again if I'm ever in town.

Beautiful historic building. Rooms are clean, bed was very firm. Large fluffy pillows, great for watching TV, not so well for sleeping. Did not have good water pressure in the shower. We had an amazing - way above average breakfast- great chef!

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They were kind enough to receive and hold a package for me for several days. The rooms leave a bit to be desired however. Our room had paint chipping and some stains on the ceiling. Bath water came out discolored when you first turned on the tub, and the bathroom ceiling was low and made of office tiles. All in all had a pleasant stay, just wish the rooms matched the quality of the lobby and staff.

Quiet and well kept. I am glad they opened their doors and let in a trio of Gen Con attendees. It is close enough to the convention center and still far enough away that you can find some amazing restaurants in the area.

Room was small for the amount of furniture, so it felt a bit cramped. Normally they have a dress code (business casual) for communal areas. Not ideal for me, but I am not the target demographic. Pretty building, antique features inside and out. Room was clean, but the shower is not ideal for tall people and the water pressure was on the low side. Valet man watched our car while we were unloading, and a young man helped us with a luggage cart. Seems like a fairly classy hotel, just not my cup of tea.

Rooms are great size. The club is for members and guests only. My only problem is that in order to sit in the lobby or eat you need to be in business casual. Polos are a must for men. This is fine because it's the culture and client that they are bringing in; but it's not great if you stay there while visiting on your own time casually. All the staff I interacted with were amazing!

This is my first time writing a review for a hotel, but I felt it to be important in this instance.
Brace yourself, it's a long one folks.

The Columbia club was, in my opinion a hard hotel to stay at.
The staff that I dealt with Upon arrival were very rude to my wife and I. The girl at the front desk acted like she didn't have the time of day for us when we approached her for any concern or need, and treated us as though we were not worth her time. She never once stood up from her chair or even sat up, the whole time slouching over the counter with her chin on her hand. The moment a member walked up however, she sprang into action.
The Valets wouldn't even smile at us but lit up when a member walked up.
The redeeming factor was a small group of staff that were amazing to us regardless of our lack of membership to the club.
Mohammed at the front desk was very courteous and kind.
The night front desk attendant was absolutely awesome and down to earth!
The valet that was working with him that night was also very kind!

The other issue was the room.Some things were broken and never got fixed after we made mention to them to the same front desk staff as before.
The door to the bathroom came off the a hinge and wouldn't close, the AC fan wouldn't turn on and we stayed in a hot box the whole time.

I would not recommend this hotel unless you are considering becoming a member, because it seems as though that is the only way to be treated with any form of respect while there.

The only thing that gained my two stars were the few staff that were great at their job and the location.

A great hotel, but my family and I got the room through groupon and they were pretty snooty. We certainly weren't excessively gross or anything. Decently dressed. Not rude. So, I kinda wish they hadn't made themselves available through groupon, if that's the way it is going to be.

The suite is amazing. Both a huge fun AND a large shower. The view is the best in the city, and the interior is classic and very tasteful. 10/10!

It was a very nice, clean, and hospitable place to stay. The food and service was very good. The shower temperature was pretty inconsistent, and the doors to the rooms were difficult to operate. Otherwise it was a great experience.

I visited the Columbia Club for a luncheon. We had excellent, formal seating for a group of around 80. The space was great for the speaker/entertainment we had. I am vegan and was served an amazing 3 course meal.
