Nice hotel room (King, non smoking)was clean and comfortable. Not much of a view. Lobby looks nice also. KioskIce machines on every other floor?? What they definitely need is a walkway going straight into the Casino
Like staying at a room the the budget motel! Very disappointed the the appearance, the smell, and the price for the room. Not to mention I had to continually adjust the water in the shower to keep it the same temperature! Poor lighting throughout made it very hard to get ready and the only space with good lighting had no outlet near or was behind the bathroom door. We also requested ocean front and got a room that had a 2x3 window in the corner that was ocean view. Really. ps $25 worth of additional fees for being a tourist on top of the $10 advertised for valet parking is a slap in the face on the way out after an already disappointing stay. Especially when you wanted to self park but there was no suitable space within the hotel that wasn't valet. Will never come back here! Not one time did anyone ask how our stay was. They probably wouldn't have liked my response though. Don't waste your money here. Go somewhere nicer that's worth the cost of $300/night
Terrible . Very upsetting . We used to stay the "Chelsea" before Tropicana took over . Staff was friendly and accommodating . It was nice to swim in the outdoor heated pool and hang in the spa after a long night of drinking . Tropicana has closed them. The room was musty , vanity in bathroom was banged up and peeling. Will not be staying here again . Sad that it's lost its charm
Online booking led us here while trying to room at the Tropicana. It is clear “the Chelsea tower” the recent acquisition by the Trop is still being staffed by the crew that put them out of business in the first place. Booked with friends for a special event and we were supposed to have 2 adjoining rooms with 2 beds each. The customer service rep my wife called on the phone prior to arriving said this would be no problem and wound up without adjoining rooms and the rooms weren’t directly next to each other. The rooms online were listed as fully renovated. Whoever renovated them should be fired. The caulk in the bathroom was black in certain areas. The bathroom shelving was hipped to the point that the cheap “wood” it was made of was showing. The rooms just look out dated and dingy at best. This trip was a huge disappointment and we will never stay at the Tropicana again.
My girlfriend and I booked a king suite with ocean view at the chelsea tower. The "ocean view" was actually a view of other buildings with the ocean around the corner to the right. Our ac was broken so when we woke up it was 85 degrees in our room. Very disappointed in our stay. When we checked out the desk didnt even ask "how was your stay?" They clearly didn't care and when I told them about our night she said she would make a note of it. Far from restitution. I will never stay at the Tropicana again.
It was really nice. Comfortable king bed. Fluffy pillows. Clean bathrooms. Nice decor. I would stay again next time in Atlantic city
Pros: Attractive lobby, Close to the Boardwalk and beach, Friendly staff, minutes from the Quarter, Ocean View, comfortable beds. Cons: Out dated furniture, stains on curtains and wall paper, dirty windows, flies and mosquitoes in the room. Bathroom toilet had urine under the seat, shower door and mirror streaked, carpet stained, room smelled stale. This hotel needs a makeover and a good scrubbing. I was able to manage fine for our one night getaway but I would not recommend this hotel nor would I stay here again. The only thing that appeared to be new or updated about this hotel was the Tropicana sign out front.
Pretty neat place to stay. Now that it's part of Tropicana makes it nice. If you've stayed in a room in the south tower at Tropicana, you know what to expect. But the rooms are actually clean, and seem to be renovated somewhat recently. Only problem is they seem to have jumped the gun and maybe should have waited until the sky bridge was put in. There's also an outdoor pool. The only way to park near there is valet or one of the other lots where it's 5 or 10 dollars for 8 hrs. You can always park at Tropicana, but you'll have to walk. However, it's just a 5 minute walk anyways.
Pool on rootop and u can have food delivered to the hotel at any hours of the night. It's close to Tropicana which has tons of nightlife stuff to do and I'm sure it's cheaper to stay here. I would stay again.
I loved it there's no Casino I used to live there in Atlantic City on the boardwalk in a pawn shop I work people sell things it's disgusting at the Chelsea they focus on you know slot machines gigantic pool on the 5th level huge first level beautiful pool breakfast food excellent
This is not a 5star resort. It's a 4star hotel! It has an annex which is basically a renovated motel. The Chelsea offers 2 pools with great views! Room service and friendly staff!
Too far from all the attractions, barely any food opinions that are open at decent times. The pool closes way too early. If you're looking to book check out Groupon, that's what I used it was cheap. Note that they are closed during winter, they will reopen during spring time
Definately not a 4 star as they advertised. We were originally booked in the Annex section. Room was gross and we had to request a new room. New room was a little better but not 4 star as they advertised. Old and dingy. I could see the appeal to 20 something kids but if you are in your 40's and know the difference between a 2 star and 5 star hotel..this is definitely NOT the place for you!
