Historic theatre with all of the fixins. Creaky seats? Check. Old murals? Check. Steep nosebleed sections? Check. Lots of random shows come up here and it's a fun atmosphere to be in here in the modern era. Plus, the building looks great from the outside!

If historic locations of acting and "treading the boards" is your thing, then you must, must, must visit this beautiful historic theater! Lovingly maintained since the copper rush of the late 1800's, it's smaller size and lavishly antique interior recall an older time when stars of the stage were legendary figures. Such a figure was Sarah Bernhardt, a French actress, who was loved and admired by Alphonse Mucha, the man who created the Art Nouveau art style. In those days, Calumet was an adjunct to the Calumet and Hecla Copper Mine, and the town was bustling with people eager for a grand night out. Her performances gathered crowds and all were thrilled to see the famed actress whom many today consider one of the best known of all time. While things have become a lot slower in Calumet since the days of copper mining, the town has not forgotten them especially since their lovely theater is still hosts performances to this day. I understand that tours are also available.

Gorgeous historical theater, built in 1900 and one of the first municipal theaters in America. It is in beautiful condition, well maintained. We saw Guys and Dolls, put on by the local theater group. It was also fantastic!

Must see, built in 1900, this is one of the landmarks one has GOT TO SEE when you are in the Keweenaw. Better yet, catch a show there. Great sound, very old school.

It is very historic and a good must see attraction but over all it was good. It is a great place to learn about the old calumet town and has great performances. There is a performance coming up called Annie and one of my best friends named miss Kiira Billick is plays the role of Annie. I love the old gouls and goust stories and myths about that old place.
