Visiting DC from LA and was passing by when I stopped in for dinner and some drinks. Exceeded my expectations. The wait staff was wonderful and the southwest Veggie burger was probably one of the better veggie burgers I’ve ever had. You can get it with real meat if you prefer. I also had the pretzel bite appetizer which was also incredible. Very happy.

Good food, fast service, nice waiter. It was my friend's birthday and we were playing it low-key, but they still brought her out a birthday pastry. Will definitely go here again!

Probably won't eat there again. Service was good. I understand why they have to charge a lot for their food but to me isn't worth paying their prices. I have other better options when dining out. I don't see the hype here. Nothing special. Those Ted Tarts are just an overpriced dry sugar cookie and the "adult" milkshake is completely over rated.

Service was excellent! Stopped in for breakfast and ordered steak & eggs. I was very pleased with my order. It came in a timely fashion and was pink in the middle just as I asked. The waiter was very attentive and the atmosphere was welcoming. I'll definitely return for dining here in the future.

Great old time diner feel. You can eat at the counter or get a table, they also have a bar for seating. The food is good. The atmosphere and decor makes you want to go, otherwise you would be in a regular old diner. We had breakfast, it was good but there wasn't anything inventive on the menueggs, bacon, french toast etc.

Great restaurant! I love that you can call ahead instead of waiting 1 hr or more in the restaurant. We barely waited when we got there. The food was really good and the servers and hostess were very friendly. It's elegant but casual and very tourist friendly. I would definitely recommend!

I didn't know that in Washington quite a few cafes are closed on Saturday & Sundays. It was nice to have come across this place. My husband and I shared the steak & eggs. The food was fresh & tasty. The staff was very friendly. What made this place unique to me was that they projected an old show/movie on the wall. I enjoyed getting a laugh and the great tasting food. I would recommend!

The service is always great. "Ted's tarts" are a sweet tooth's best friend, the milk shakes are incredibly rich and thick, and the good is great. What else can you ask for? Try the meatloaf - I've never ordered meatloaf in a restaurant and never tasted one I liked. This meatloaf changed that. It's just that good.

I've only been here once but I will definitely be returning. A group of my friends went Sunday during brunch hours, which are a big thing in DC, so we had to wait about an hour for a table but they distract you very well with their assortment of cakes and pastries. The food once we were seated was amazing but the typical brunch drinks (mimosas, etc.) could use some re tweaking but that's it. i recommend ordering the chicken and biscuits but instead of the hash browns, get the brussel sprouts (So good!!!) and order grits to go(Legit). Trust me I don't even eat grits and I love theirs.

Got the reuben there and it was good. They automatically serve homemade fries with everything unless it says otherwise. Service was fast and professional. Was not cheap though. 3 people in my party and it was almost $60

Fantastic food, fantastic servers. Run, don't walk to Ted's! Had the sloppy Joes and fries, had meatloaf, corn and mashed potatoes and gravy all great. Went back next day for breakfast! Wonderful fresh eggs cooked to perfection, hash browns were real potatoes ( not frozen bag potatoes), bacon good, French toast good. Nothing bad to say.

I have a lot of positives about this place and only a couple negatives that aren't *really* negatives so I'd definitely say they deserve 4 stars.
Positive #1: I liked pop tarts already, but these are homemade and warm and flakey and I didn't even know I was missing them in my life. Now I do and I'll never buy those FAKE pop tarts from the grocery store again. The strawberry one was so good but I also wanted to try the blueberry cheesecake that my friends have been raving over. Another day, another 3 dollars.
Positive #2: The food is good. I didn't have anything I didn't like, so I think that's good. The hash browns were warm and cooked perfectly, just the right amount of crispiness. The chicken biscuits looked AMAZING. Dare I say almost better than Chick-fil-As
Positive #3: You can get coffee while you're waiting for a table (which you'll have to because they don't take reservations).
"Negative" #1: The drinks are pricey. A mimosa/Bellini/Bloody Mary is something like $10 each. Yes, the mimosa was good and fresh squeezed orange juice was in it, but I'm so used to DC brunching and having a bottomless option to make it a *little* more worthwhile and *at least* only $7 per drink.
Negative #2: The service wasn't all that great. That's that.
Would return, but maybe only to stop in and grab a few pop-tarts to-go.response / report this review
