Good atmosphere, large portions. Sad that they removed some of the favorite vegan options. Hostess was awesome - friendly, professional - but wait staff could be a little more attentive. Overall great experience. Give it a 4.7 overall.
Food sounds very interesting in the menu, but tastes quite regular. The last time I tried the peanut butter burger, and it was very weird (definitely not the best burgers in the city). Also, it is quite overpriced. The collection of beer is fascinating. Really liked that coffee flavour dark beer.
They split the check for 4 people maximum, so if you have a big gang, it can be a bit inconvenient.
We were staying in town for a night to visit family. We wanted to eat at a place that had vegan options for my son but also had a fun atmosphere. This was the place. We walked a mile to get there even with our younger kids and it was totally worth it. Service was good but it was all about the food. I had the tomato bisque and also the soft pretzels as my main meal. They were scrumptious. My husband, Irish, had the bangers and mash. He loved them. My son had the spicey Asian BBQ tofu bites and said they were outstanding. He had the tofu tacos for his meal and loved them. Wish we had had room for dessert, that menu looked great. Next time!!!
The food was really good and bartender was friendly on a Monday night. Second time coming here and enjoy it. The beer selection is excellent as well.
I'm giving it 3 stars because there was no direction or any one to tell us where to go when we arrived. We stood with another family waiting for 5 mins until the people in front of us were smart enough to ask the bartender, who directed them to the station to be seated. The hostess didn't acknowledge us for another 5 minutes - not professional at ALL. The food was great, and when I didn't like my drink selection the waitress graciously offered several replacements. We'd go back again!
The food here is good, (portions could be larger though), and they have a nearly unrivalled wall of craft taps. A great place for a few drinks, or a full-blown evening! Parking can be a challenge during busy hours.
had a REALLY horrible experience, went there on the Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend, waited 15 minutes to find out that there was no hostess??? Waited 15 more minutes to get water once we were seated. Beer list was nice, wide variety and good selection. Jen (server) was busting her tail. The kitchen was "SLAMMED", but the place was like 1/2 full, so that was a bit confusing. Asked for my burger to be done medium-rare, it came out well done, but after waiting almost an hour and 15 minutes for food, did not want to wait another 30+ minutes for one done right. It might be better other days, but this was DEFINITELY NOT a good day.
They were pretty accomidating for the 15ish of us there were celebrating my friend's 33rd birthday last night. The tofu buffalo bites are out of this world! The variety of beer on tap was substantial, however more of a cider selection would be nice. The only down side was that the kitchen was running a bit slow. We had friends order wings that had left before the order arrivedit took about an hour to get them to the table. All and all not too shabby.
Excellent selection of beer, constantly rotating the drafts so there's usually something new worth trying. The food is great, definitely a few steps above "bar food." Our server Niary was very attentive and made us feel welcome. I will be back and would suggest you try it as well.
Not only is this place good for a sit-down dinner, they delivery too! Our favorites are the buffalo tofu bites and the mallet burger. Everything is fresh and our experience with their staff has been great both in-restaurant and delivering. I haven't tried their trivia night yet - maybe next time!
Tap an Mallet has an almost inconceivable amount of beer on tap. There is great food and seating. More of a relaxed environment. They removed the real dart board and didn't replace it with anything. A little pricey, but a great establishment in the south wedge.
Small bar with good comfort food and great beer. This is not a sports bar though (no TVs), so don't go expecting bud light. I don't think they even have bud light. The staff is usually knowledgeable about craft beer, both styles and breweries.
The place to go in Rochester if you are a beer aficionado. Numerous taps and an extensive bottle selection. They aim to serve the best beer available anywhere.
No TVs, and the music is at a level that allows for conversation.
You can get food, and it is worth eating.
