  I researched the internet for quite a while but Tandy Leather is The place to go. The staff is very helpful and will spend 30 min looking for a perfect leather cord with you or go through their inventory of hides. Beginner or professional, they most likely have what you need and will provide tips if you ask.

  You won't find a greater group of folks to help you with your leather needs. Very knowledgeable without the attitude no matter your skill level.
  
  I started my leather journey here and the entire time they are there to help me out when I need an expert opinion or tip.
