Fun place to go with friends and family. Saw a lot of local wildlife. My 9 yr. Old saw her first Florida panther.
Took us about 2 hours to walk through park, though we didn't walk nature trail or do zip line/canopy walk. They have these dinosaurs and other displays made from car parts that are my favorite things in the park. Historical houses and exhibits, zip line/ canopy, small zoo, playground, farm, nature trail, on waterfront property. There is a gift shop and concession that we didn't use. $12 for adults and $9 for kids 4-12, 3 and under free.
The Tallahassee Museum is one of my favorite places to take my children when we go to Tallahassee. The cost is minimal, unless you go to the gift shop.
They have an old cracker style farm, numerous live animals (native to Florida), a caboose and they seem to add something new each time we visit.
I highly recommend this as one of your places to see in Tallahassee.
The museum was very interesting. Our family enjoyed looking at the architecture of the buildings. The farm animals were friendly and the kids had fun. The zip lines were the highlight of the afternoon for the kids, 13 year old son and 11 year old daughter. Their instructional course was fairly well taught. The course was a little challenging at first. They got the hang of it prett quick though. The wife and I enjoyed the raptor display. The traveling otter exhibit was really cool too. Very well worth the money.
Still awesome, after 60 years! And improving every year, but basically the same. My 2 sons grew up coming here, and now their kids are doing the same!
Great place to take the entire family. No lines, not crowded. We've lived in Panama City for 50 years and no one we know has ever heard of it. They need to change the name, nothing like a museum. White squirrels were the best. We'll go back soon.
Spectacular place to experience North Florida history. Definitely a kid friendly museum, most everything is outside. Although, don't be fooled. I have been going to this place for 34 years and still learn something every time I set foot on the property. This is an ageless place. There is a playground, snack shack, and zip line course. Best day to go is the first cool fall Saturday. That way it's not to hot and you don't hurry through seeing all the natural wildlife.
This museum never gets old. Love the new signage throughout, the walking paths a lot easier to navigate. Tree to Tree as always is awesome!!!
Bring a good pair of walking shoes and some water it's Hot! Totally fun for the whole family. We just renewed our membership for another year!!!
Awesome tree to tree climbing lines and zip lines. Great walking path too. We saw bears, otters, wolves, deer, fox, bald eagles, alligator, and panthers. Each has a really nice habitat. Some of the lines go right above the animals. In addition to the real animals, there is also some cool dinosaur sculptures.
We did the over night experience and our Troup really enjoyed it. The staff was engaging and helped educate us on all the animals and life in the 1800
Went for a 2nd grade field trip. It was super cute! The kids got to walk all over and explore, see a bear, dear, birds, etc., churn butter, play in an old school, a house, and a caboose. Plus there were white squirrels all over the place and a big playground where you can sit and eat a packed lunch or buy food. The ropes course/zip lining portion looked fun -one for kids and another for adults. I hope to go back and do that :). Kids were definitely worn out.
This is one of Tallahassee's best museums. It's spread out among the trees complete with animal exhibits and zip lines for the more adventurous. Seriously worth a visit.
super fun place wether its with your kids or just for yourself it it a beautiful outdoor museum. It is fully packed with things to see and look at. Plus the unguided zipline/obstacle course was fantastic and adds the the laid back "go at your own pace" style of the whole park
We are members of the museum and visit a few times a month. It's nice to drop in and walk around for a few hours, look at the animals, let the kids play on the playground The food in the cafeteria is good, or sometimes we take a bag lunch. This is one of our favorite things to do in town.
