I used to love coming here on Wednesday nights for drum Djam and I usually count on those nights to ahemlet my freak flag fly lol. Last few visits I encountered I noticed that the crowd has changed. Maybe they’re taking the bar in a new direction. I noticed more college kids and less people drumming and dancing. Perhaps it will change again once the weather cools. $5 cover to get in and no pressure to buy drinks, just have a good time. I haven’t given up on this place completely.

A staple of Dallas Night Life. Personally been attending for 10+ years. As a patron and DJ.

Wide variety of music genres. DJ's, bands, etc. from local and headlining artists. Inside room with great sound and excellent staff (2 bars). LARGE out back and open area with an additional stage (where smoking is allowed). Decent drink prices. Great stop in Dallas, not too far in downtown. Highly suggest for those locally who throw shows/events as they are very open to all acts. With good parking and food vendors hanging out outside, I can safely give this a 10/10

The Green Elephant has definitely cleaned up since the last time I was there! With a little more work, it could be really awesome place, but it's still just a grungy neighborhood dive bar.

This offbeat EDM dive is spacious with indoor and outdoor areas, a good sound system and an eclectic mix of events every day of the week. This spot isn't for everyone, think gabber and psy trance, not insipid house or top 40 dance tunes.

Usually I love coming here. Wednesday's are what I look forward to! But recently the staff has become more aggressive and rude. I understand dealing with a bunch of drunks you're going to get agitated. But as soon as me and friends walk through the door we get treated like garbage, and we're not a rowdy group of people. It's starting to ruin my experience.

So I went in to this bar as I was meeting a few people at this place. Time was around 10:13pm.
I got in here and the bartender asked me 'what can I get you?'. I said I have to decide. He replied that they need to verify my id first. So I got my ID scanned at the entrance.
While I was trying to look at the menu, this big guy stopped me with his hand and asked me "you here to drink?". He asked me that moronic question as if bullying me. I mean never at any business someone asked me question like that. It's common sense.

I wanted to stand up to this bully.
So I asked "do I have to answer you?".
Him: Yes.
Me: no I don't want to reply.

So he started shoving me out. I was shocked. So this is what happens when someone doesn't want to reply a simpleton security guy at this bar. After he man handled me out. He started explaining to other employees that he asked me a simple question. However, why would be explain that that simple question was asked with an intention to bully.

Even the cop, who was outside, asked me to leave as if it was my fault.
It seems to be the case that all people outside looked at me through an assumption: trouble making guy at the bar.
Assumptions and lies are favored rather than facts. Because assumptions are familiar.

ps: my wrist is hurting from the rigorous and forced manhandling last night.
