I was in Marion, Alabama late one summer evening. My daughter and I had not had dinner. Having been in Marion a month or so earlier, I had to leave before the Swamp Fox Tavern opened for the evening. Being thrilled by realizing that I had lingered in town late enough to finally try out the unique restaurant, we made our way in. I felt that I was back in London sitting in a pub. The decor and atmosphere was heartwarming and excellent. Our dinners wre excellent as well as was the service. We took time to climb the stairs to visit the bar. Going out on the balcony and looking across at the Court House and town square added to the ambience. That evening was one of those unforgettable moments in life. The management, wait staff and even the customers gave off an essence of delight. Marian Powell, author.
