Favorite place for sushi! It’s good and at a reasonable price. I usually get the ensenada roll, and the shana roll. They never disappoint. They have the drink special large beer and sake for about 6 dollars which is not bad at all. The staff is friendly, and the service is quick. Place is clean the only complaint is the parking. However, that’s not their fault.

Amazing atmosphere. Staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable on the menu. Very quick to take care of you and get you started! Food is VERY reasonably priced. Lots to choose from for the most picky of eaters.

Great sushi and drinks for an even greater price. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and service here. I ordered the Red Dragon and Calamari Volcano Roll which were out of this world. Would definitely visit again and recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Well worth the wait. We waited for maybe 20 minutes. We grabbed a beer while we waited and enjoyed the scene. Good beers to choose from and fun environment. Food was very delicious and priced very well. Definitely got what we paid for. I would recommend this place to everyone

Sushi Deli is a San Diego staple. I have been eating here for years. I enjoy every meal I have here. I have had just about every item on the menu and each item has been good. I love the decor and the friendly atmosphere. It is clean and always has a crowd.
You definitely need to arrive early as an hour wait is not unusual. If you go later you might be lucky to get parking. The prices are always reasonable. I highly recommend this place. Enjoy 😊response / report this review -

I've been here many times over the past 4 years. Family friendly, the music isn't loud service is above averageat least it was. It's taken a dip in the past few months. I'm writing this as I'm sitting in the restaurant and I can say it's changed even more than the last I came, and not for the better. You have the same usual wait time during the peak hours (30 to 45 minutes for a table of 5), but the service was less than stellar. Most of our servers and our waiter look like they don't want to be here. The food doesn't have the same quality for the price. It's definitely not high end sushi, but I expect to pay less for sushi that falls apart after lightly dipping it in sushi. The music was once at a moderate level and tasteful, but now I currently have a headache from the volume and the erratic electronica they have playing. I'm not saying don't come to this place (if you like high energy, hip scenes this place is for you), but I'm just saying it used to sit a little higher in my repertoire of eats. It's worth coming here at least once, and therefore deserves at least 3 stars.

This place is great! Cheap high quality food with decently sized portion size. I ordered the teriyaki chicken platter (6.99) and got a huge tray including a cup of soup. Sushi was low as $5 and only went up to around $15. The only unfortunate part was our difficulty parking, we couldn't find a spot anywhere and hard to park next door at Jack in the box.

I have started to come here often as the service and food is VERY good every time! If you don't want to wait for a table during busy times, you can often just grab a seat at the bar and order/eat there too. Food, service and ambience​ all perfect and equal a great experience every time!!

We come out here frequently. Some days through service is better than others. The waiters and servers are all good and nice, the kitchen usually takes too long so that's the source of the issue. Sushi is great quality and you can beat that price.

Waited in line for 2 hours due to there system crashing. They have a call ahead list for customers, that call ahead? That were being seated before the customers that were patient enough to wait for hours outside in the cold. Greatly disappointed in the service today and still had to wait to order.

My favorite sushi place in San Diego.
No, it's not the best sushi, but the price is ultra-competitive and the portions are serious. You'll never leave this place disappointed nor will it break the bank. The staff has always been friendly and attentive.
The only downsides to this place are the waits and the parking. Since it's on a crowded street you might have to circle a few times to find any parking at peak times. Either that or park several blocks away and hike there. Once you do get there be prepared to sign up on the waiting list. It used to be much worse before the expansion, but now it's gotten better.
My favorite go-to platter is the sushi of the month special. They switch it up every month and I've never had a poor experience in ordering it.response / report this review -

Maria was extremely rude to my grandmother. She wouldn't let her sit down to rest even though my grandmother has a cane and is an older woman. She wouldn't give my grandmother curbside service, ,even though she was in the proper place. It wasn't until she spoke to the owner that things were different, but the employees still shouldn't be so rude. The sushi deli in Kearny Mesa is way better in every way.

Was trying to find a cheap sushi bar with good quality sushi, I found this place amongst others. Had to try it out just by reading all the reviews. It was pretty busy. Make sure to order in advance if you're carrying out. The sushi was delicious. Overall, would recommend.
