Even though I don't smoke we really enjoyed checking out the back room which is a cigar smoking room in the style of a 1920's speakeasy. Very unique little store with a variety of candles, home goods, cigars, and other knick knacks. Very well preserved part of history!

It has a little bit of everything. Big candle, handmade crafts, and cigar selection. Many different tobacco products and accessories. Good, friendly owners able to answer most questions.

Surroundings is the best smoke shop in Northern Michigan. The regular customers are an eclectic and engaging lot. There is never a dull moment in the smoking lounge. Oscar, Karen, and Jenni Carlson are super friendly and thoughtful. They are some of the most talented retailers I have ever met. There is a sign in the cigar lounge that reads " Welcome to Surroundings. Enter as strangers, leave as friends." People stop in from near and far, because of the truth of that message.

Surroundings is simply the best cigar store I have ever been in. Their humidor is huge! The selection is fabulous, and they have two 'smoke nights' a month, which attract the most interesting people. Their eclectic selection of candles and other unique gifts make this a one-of-a-kind store for all seasons, for locals and tourists alike. Oscar and Karen, the owners, have done a wonderful job of making this store a real treat to visit.
