I go to Strawberry Square often for lunch, I love the town square atmosphere and the lighting, and it is always well heated and comfortable in the winter which I find surprising considering how high the ceilings are. It's a great outing for kids with Whitaker Center in the same building. The food options remain bad, but it is so quick and convenient it's unavoidable. There have been two recent additions for lunch at a higher price point, but just getting a variety of basic/healthy salads (house, Greek, Cesar) or deli sandwiches is not an option at a reasonable price. Most of the establishments will give you burger toppings for a salad, which I don't consider a real salad. The Mexican themed kiosk has an amazing breakfast, but the lunch options are cold and overcooked if you just order from what they have ready-made. I believe they prepare better options as ordered if you like Mexican dishes. Tropicana Smoothie doesn't remain consistent with their preparations. I also would love if all the kiosks would provide trays instead of bagging everything so we could eliminate waste and maintain a more cleanly space.

This is a nice, convenient place to do certain types of shopping or grab a quick bite when I'm at work (since it's right across the street from where I work).
They always keep the place bright, cheerful and clean and during this time of year its usually decorated and pumped with christmas music. They sometimes have little demonstrations/groups singing/etc.response / report this review -

Strawberry Square is a collective of quick eating establishments, small shops, multiple government agencies, and two universities. The "Square" has shown significant improvements over the last five years. Very lively between 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Work there. Food choices are good. Some cool shops and now a grocery store. Rite aid is a plus.

I like taco bell but they have a worker there that does not know what she is doing. I ask for 4 tacos, 2 with sour cream and 2 without. The sour cream was at the end of the Traci and was oozing out all over and she didn't ask if we wanted hard or soft and I didn't think about it and we got soft. I ate my 2 but I was not happy with them but I was in a hurry. She also did not act as if she really likes her job. I know about needing a job but if your not happy with it you need to look for a new one before you get into a rut. Good luck to her. The rest of the eateries in here are very good. The pizza is very tasty and the taco salads are delicious. I go to the Chinese restaurant a lot, Chef Chens Express. I think they are the best in here. Well that's all for now, have a wonderful day.

It's not exactly a lively mall one attends for a day of shopping. Definitely somewhere you attend with a purpose; school, work, etc. There is a little amps here which is some of the best coffee you will ever drink and a food court upstairs to grab some grub.

I used to work downtown and eat here just about every work day. The food court is the only real draw for me here. Stores come and go quickly it seems and the escalators can be disfunctional more than one would expect. There is an elevator for folks who need that type of service while visiting. A really annoying feature of this place is the free live music at certain points during the year. Outside of that, it's a standard food court with several decent restaurant choices, Santa Fe Taco being the best place ever.

The Strawberry Square Mall is in need of a major renovation to give it a modem appeal. I grew up here, but left the area years ago. I use to own a small jewelry business in the mall. I took my grown boys there to eat lunch on the bridge. The mall is a huge waste of space. Being located in the heart of the capital of the state, we hopped for an interesting mix of foods and crafted desserts. There were tons of business people, but no interesting foods or unique shops, not even a descent ice cream shoppe, no shakes or even a real smoothie place. There's a great gym, but no healthy food cafe's as soon as you exit.
Whoever is managing the Strawberry Square mall should hang their head in shame for not taking advantage of such a unique space and it's location. Not one single unique shop or boutique.
The worst part was the parking. The only place to park for a long period of time was the "college" garage. It cost us $15, which was not only obscene but more expensive than the garage we parked in in downtown Washington D.C. 2 days prior to getting to Harrisburg.response / report this review -

Checked the new Rite Aid that went in. Looks bright and spacious. Lots of selection and the modern floor plan. I really like the new look for those newer/remodeled stores

Lots to do downtown harrisburg. Great places to eat with family or just friends. Parking is a little pricey bit the food makes it worth a visit.

Fun spot. It's not what it was when I was a kid, but they're trying. I wish they kept all the fun educational things that I remember so well from my childhood.

A nice place with a good selection of places to eat. A bit dated looking but the clock sculpture is always a cool thing to see. It can be a bit depressing if you go during the slow hours. The free public bathrooms can be quite filthy, but are convenient if you are in the downtown area and need a place to go. Parking maybe a little costly if you use the adjoining parking garage. There is a skyway adjoining the nearby parking garage, the Harrisburg Hilton, and the Whitaker Center.

I go to Strawberry Square about ones for some classes in Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. I usually go to the Strawberry Square to eat because it is close by and it is indoors since it's so cold in the winter. There is a good variety of fast serviced food and a lot of times their Affairs indoors and live music as well. the Japanese restaurant in the Strawberry Square serves very good beef noodles
