We recently moved in and really like it here! Our apartment had new flooring, was in good condition and very clean. The staff here is also really nice and responded very fast to all of our questions.

I stayed here for two and a half years nice Apartments just make sure you're on the second floor so you do not have to listen to the kids run around over your head. Has a nice pool areas and a place to clean out your car or truck.

Nice place for graduate students to live. Friendly staff, low noise, convenient traffic, beautiful community environment, and reasonable price.

Nice place. Mostly students live here. Good for families too. 10 minutes driving to almost anything and the highways nearby. Very low noise. Helpful and trustworthy staff. I felt very safe even though this was my first place of stay in Alabama.

This review is not about my actual experience there, which, by and large, was fine. I would probably give Stone Creek a 3/5 stars for overall living experience. It is was it is: safe, very efficient (the maintenance staff was incredibly responsive and helpful) and the interior of the apartments, while they certainly cut some corners, was overall attractive. On the other hand, like most other places in the US similar to Stone Creek, these are cookie-cutter, soulless apartments made with cheap materials (insulation, siding, etc.) - every unit is identical to the next, there is nothing unique about one apartment to the next, etc. My feeling is that these apartments are also too expensive for what they offer, especially in the Tuscaloosa market, where much, much better deals can be found. I did like the pool, however!

I am forced to write this negative review because of the fiasco that has developed regarding my security deposit. We left our apartment in mid-June and have yet to receive our security deposit back. In the last couple of weeks, it has been a near part-time job trying to make this happen. I understand it's the busy summer months, but this is ridiculous, straight up incompetent. Consider this: nearly 2 months after we moved out, they first claimed they mailed our check to our old address (our Stone Creek address!) even though, before I moved out, I followed their procedures to the letter. When we left, we left them with our new mailing (forwarding) address, on their official forms as well as with multiple people in their office. I've probably given out our forwarding address, over the phone and in person, 3 - 4 times in the last couple of months. And yet, for some reason, one part of the body (the Stone Creek office) could not communicate with the other (the central office in downtown Tuscaloosa), and they sent our check to our old Sealy address. Honestly, how stupid is that. They once suggested we could go to the central office to pick up the check directly, but quickly rescinded that offer. They then suggested that, no, they did send the check to the new (forwarding) address, but that they forgot to write down the apt. #, which is why we never received it. So could we check with the USPS/postmaster about that! Good God! Even though this situation is entirely their fault, they now have the gall to suggest they can't cancel the old check until 30 days after it was issued, because it would cost them $35. What an inconvenience to them! So we are forced to wait until 30 days after a completely late check was mailed to the wrong address, to HOPE that they'll (1) cut a new check in a decent amount of time; and (2) send it to the correct address, which I've told them time and time again.

They do no return phone calls (nothing is initiated unless you initiate it yourself). The woman who works in bookkeeping is especially incompetent. She has consistently failed to get back in touch after she has promised to do so. Multiple, multiple times. I really hate being rude on the phone, so I try my best not to call, because I'll likely just lose my temper (again). We were IDEAL tenants. We will never, ever, recommend Stone Creek (or Sealy properties, for that matter) to anyone, as we had done in the past. When prospective tenants come to town, we will go out of our way to suggest they look elsewhere.

Time will tell if (1) we ever get our security deposit back; and (2) if we do, how long that will take. It's anyone's guess at this point.
