Jason is THE BEST. We have been fishing with other really good Captains in the Tampa Bay area, but let me say again, Jason is the BEST. His boat and equipment is always top notch. His knowledge of the bay and skill getting us on fish is without compare, and he works his butt off for his parties. That, and he's a really nice guy that makes the day fun and relaxing.
There is no guarantee in fishing, if you want guarantees, go to the fish market. But we have been fishing with Jason for maybe 7-8 years and have never been disappointing in his skill and efforts on our behalf and while some trips have been more productive than others due to outside factors (weather for one), we have always caught fish and had a GREAT time.

I booked a 6 hour trip and enjoyed every minute of it. A rare cold front had just come through, and we knew we might have to work hard for the fish. We picked a few snook up on the flats, and while we could see them, they weren't very excited to eat. Using his experience and local knowledge, we hit some structure and deeper water. With guidance on exactly where to cast, I caught at least 20 snook, hooking one on almost every cast. Later we hit some trees and pulled a big ol' red to the boat that ended up being just over slot. The conversation was easy, the boat is one of the nicest I've ever fished on, and even on a tough day we boated a bunch of fish. I'll book this trip again next time I'm in Tampa, or maybe shoot for a trophy tarpon next time. I give Jason my highest recommendation!

Steady Action Fishing Charters is the fishing charter to check out when you are in Florida. Captain Jason Prieto was an AMAZING guide, and he will get you on the fish right away. We had a blast on his boat. He had all of the equipment for us ready to go. He even had a cooler full of ice, just bring your drinks and food with. We explored the Tampa Flats and the river system along the mangrove islands. There were plenty of Snook, Trout, Redfish, and even Blowfish too. Highly recommended!!!!

Great day out with Cpt Jason. He moved us around to keep up with the snook and had us in the right place at the right time all morning. Friendly guy and really knew what he was doing. Hope to get a chance to go out with him again on my next trip to Florida.

A first class captain with a first class boat. A true professional guide. I'm a double amputee and have fished my whole life and my wife who doesn't fish had a blast , he had us on fish all day, my wife had to quit fishing because her wrist was hurting. Captain Jason Prieto does a radio talk show on sports talk -1040. This 39 year old captain is going places. He has some good sponsors but deserves his own clothing sponsor, come on under armor, Nike, Columbia.

    Thanks for an awesome trip,
    Ken

Having fished for 45 years, I have used guides all over the U.S, and I can tell you that I'm picky as hell.
There are 4 basic qualities that I look for in a good guide:
1 - Needs to know his spots and how to fish: Sounds funny to say but there are plenty of guides who don't really know their trade.
2- Has a good boat and uses decent fishing tackle: Good gear makes a difference, especially if you are fairly serious about catching fish.
3- Has a good personality: When you spend 6 hours in close quarters with a person, it helps if you enjoy their company.
4- Is willing to work: This is my biggest pet peeve because there are guides who are a bit lazy and they will just go through the motions just to get paid.

Captain Jason Prieto gets the highest marks in all of these categories. He is the best Back Country/ Inshore guide I have ever used in Florida (Jacksonville to the Keys), and I highly recommend him if you are serious about catching fish.

I'm going to tell it how it is. Just like most reading these reviews, I assume, you have fished with other charter captains and guides etcI have as well. However, I have never experienced an adventure in fishing and in life as one that Captain Jason Prieto provided. I had the absolute pleasure fishing with Jason during the dawning of Spring this 2016 fishing season. As a passerby who was merely checking the scenic views of the harbor, I struck a conversation with him as he was working on his boat. Jason did not use a sales pitch as he did not need one. After chewing the fat a bit, I could tell he was a genuine individual all around. Therefore,I decided to charter him on the last day of my stay. I had the gut feeling we were going to do well. And we did..very well to be quite honest with you all. We caught nearly 40 snook in 4-5 hrs. Trophy fish included! You do the mathSteady Action was an understatement, it was Non Stop Action. I sarcastically suggested he should reconsider naming his business..We had a good laugh..But the top tier fishing isn't the only perk, as Jason is a very cool, resourceful, and a good person to talk to. As a young professional myself (not in fishing), Jason gave me career advice as well as advice concerning the trials and tribulations that life presents itself. Over the course of the day, we covered a large scope of topics ranging from seasonal fish migration to things we both aspire to fulfill in life. I recommend Captain Jason Prieto in the highest regard to any person; from a beginner to a well polished fisherman. He is truly an asset to the fishing community at large. I'm already getting anxious for my next trip with the Captain. On that note, do not take this gentlemen for granite for he is top shelf. At the end of the day, and at the very least, you will catch trophy fish, have an intelligent conversation, and if you're a nice person make a new friend. Thank You, Captain Jason for a memory that no one can ever take or steal. Best, Mike Mauter

Great time from start to finish. Went out with my brother and son and the first two cast fish were on! We had a great conversation and stayed on fish the entire time. I would recommend Jason without reservation. I will definitely book again!
