Great place for rock concerts. Small but cozy venue with security, bar and a secondary balcony that they open sometimes. Cool people behind the bar. Parking is anywhere you can get it on the streets of St. Petersburg (beware of meter maids). Walking distance to record stores, restaurants, other bars.
Only been here once. Very small venue and they oversold it playing their games of moving the venues back and forth. Otherwise I enjoyed the concert there and the bartenders were good and friendly.
Beautiful venue for a concert. Antique and trendy at the same time. Tje acoustic and sound of the place is just pristine. It is hard to find a local theater with all this good things. Door guys are super friendly and professional. I'm from Miami and drove all the way in 2015 and 2017 just to see Living Colour! I'll be back next time they play there for sure.
Fantastic venue. The kind of venue your bestie would run. Adequate security, and easy going. Great bartenders, amazing concerts. Great sound system.
never knew this place existed. 1st time here last nite. door staff were very friendly. great small venue. sound system sounded pretty damn good. great place to see a show. def. will be coming back
Great place to see live music and your favorite bands. Awesome staff, good drinks decent prices. The perfect size venue for any show. Local and National acts almost every night of the week. Always a great time. A staple venue of St. Petersburg and the music scene.
I go to the State Theater to see a lot of shows. Great venue first of all. Went to see Pink Floyd Laser Show on Aug.18,2017. When I go to see/hear Pink Floyd I don't expect to see pictures of dead men lying in a row and politics on the screen. If I wanted to watch the news I would have stayed home.Do you ever preview the show first before showing it to the audience? I wasn't the only one that was shocked to see this . People all around us were disgusted and disappointed that the State Theater would show this during what's supposed to be about The Dark Side of the Moon album. I understand that some of the music pertains to Money/Govt. but People fighting to death and showing bodies? Come on owners/management. What people want is to come and relax, not watch the news.
Always a fun time here. They get good acts in. The beer specials are decent too
This is my favorite venue in St Pete, small and intimate with a wide range of artists coming through. I have never had a bad night here. They have multiple bars and a balcony so it's never hard to get away from the pit or to get a drink. Can't recommend this place enough
If seedy dives are your thing, like me, then this place will feel like home. Cheap beers, sticky floors and lots of people with questionable hygiene. I saw the SG Blackheart Burlesque show recently and was in the balcony section where my friend and I observed a rather large rat run through the crowd, seemingly unnoticed by the majority. Fun stuff
This theater is immaculate in the way they treat you!!!!! Kendra the manager is so sweet and accommodating, Anthony the owner made me feel right at home! Tallulah was very attentive. Security made me feel safe but was also super chill. I can't say anything except y'all better get over there to a badass show😊! The facility is clean, the sound is great and the drinks keep flowing. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking to see a great show in the Tampa Bay Area and any band looking to play a reputable and intimate venue. #ilovedtsp #thestatetheatre #tamparocks
Great venue, good visibility anywhere you are, good acoustics. Tickets at the door are cash only, some seats but mainly standing room. Overall great spot for a show
