I'm 26 and I loved it - such a nice area! It's a Victorian style cottage-like hotel, and you will be surrounded by older folks but that's because they know the best places ;) They give you 2 ginormous chocolate/walnut/raisin cookies EVERY MORNING - trust me you will not finish them but they are delicious. You can also go down by the shore and look for Petoskey stones - we found a ton so I know you can too - and its within driving distance of some really nice shopping areas/towns.
My family went to the Santa brunch and it was fabulous. I would recommend it to anyone with kids. Santa was great, the food was excellent, and the staff went above and beyond.
My boyfriend and I can back to his home town for a wedding. He has always seen the Stafford and wanted to stay here, so we did! Staff was absolutely excellent, especially Corey, he was personalable and helpful with everything we needed and went Above and beyond! We will definitely be back, and recommended to friends already!!
Charming and quaint, this old style Inn gives you the best in hospitality, even humoring those who are new to the Inn style of hotel.
Rooms are comfortable and well maintained, linens were perfectly thick and soft. Noticed the hotel is kept to a standard of clean always missing in commercial chains.
Dinner and breakfast were extraordinary. Their poached eggs were cooked to perfection. Their dinner provided a variety of flavors to tease your sense of taste. Food was not overcooked but moist and well tended. Mashed potatoes were perfectly homemade and delightful! Whipped cream was hand whipped with expertise! Not sugary at all. DO NOT SKIP THE COBBLER!
Hot teas and coffee available 24/7 in the library.
This Inn is perfect for couples to get away, unplug and relax!
Stayed here with my parents on our way to Canada. LOVED this placed; the mega cookies on the bed, short walk to the shore to look for Petoskey stones, wine on the veranda while watching the sun set, awesome breakfast, access to bike trail, kind staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds. We will return and will definitely stay longer next time!!!
Wanted to love this restaurant. We made reservations for our anniversary for a table wth a view. However, they apparently gave that table to another couple and tried to seat us looking at a wall :( We wound up having appetizers on their hotel lobby porch where the tables had empty soda and beer cans, as well as fast food cups as it wasn't cleaned up. When we were finally seated, dinner was mediocre at best. Fish offerings were fried and dried out. My entree of beef tenderloin medallions was served on a luncheon sized plate. It really lacked presentation. Side dishes were banal. Dinner rolls were delicious. Dessert was just okay. Disappointing for a $140 meal. Wouldn't return
Great service and food! The whitefish was amazing and generous portion size! The side of asparagus was nicely cooked and the dinner roll was phenomenal.
We stayed in a Cherry Blossom Suite and it was absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful view of the bay, and the service was exceptional. Everyone there was very kind. It was truly a 5 star experience!!
The Sunday brunch was fantastic as always. Not a bad thing there. Great service too.
I saw a good friend get hitched in front of the majestic lake! Staffs are very friendly. They are very sincere and made the stay very hospitable. Coming from busy life in Cali, this was a great stay and saw genuine niceness from this town. Petoskey and Bay View inn rules.
Great variety on the buffet bar, always great service!!
Been here many times. Nice atmosphere. Newly added bar that attracts a mature crowd. Quality breakfast food, a bit over priced.
I attended a social event and found everything well appointed. The staff was courteous and the venue and food were quite good
Great location, right on the bay. So cozy and cute it will knock your socks off.. which you can promptly put back with the amazing cookies and hot chocolate. Really fantastic to-order breakfast as well.
