Always have a great time here! When people think afternoon tea, they often think that they're gonna walk away hungry but we're always stuffed when we finish and they do a great job with the menu each month. It's a bit pricey to go often but it's a great experience for special occasions! My family and I go to tea rooms all over the country and this one tops pretty much every one I've had so far (including the Ritz). Don't count it out!
Love the St. James Tearoom! This is a great spot for a quiet afternoon of tea and great food. The themes are fun and the staff are always excellent. Each little nook is decorated in a unique style. If you or someone you know are tea enthusiasts, then make a reservation, you will not be disappointed.
World-class! Every single detail of the experience - and it *is* an experience, much more than meeting for coffee or lunch - is *exquisite*! It is an utter delight, perfect for special occasions, birthdays, Mother's Day, etc, or just to enjoy and celebrate a special friendship! That's only the beginning, though! Their special events are *such* a treat to have in Albuquerque - truly world-class! They have a masquerade ball-themed event in October, Narnia events, Harry Potter, Agatha Christie, Tolkien - they're even having an event with a Star Wars/Tolkien contrast, something to that effect, coming up soon! I've also seen Dr. Who events, cigar-themed events, and more, much more! Oh, and I took my son to an event called "A Pirate's Guide to Etiquette" a few years ago - they have delightful offerings for children on up! (Although I believe they may have some guidelines regarding teas/events that aren't geared for children) They've also got a very nice gift shop in which their loose teas and accoutrements are available, in addition to a variety of other beautiful items!
I simply cannot say enough good things about it, the St. James Tearoom is an absolute treasure!
I love going to the St.James Tearoom. The food is wonderful but the time with friends and the relaxed atmosphere is what makes it so incredibly enjoyable. Their staff is considerate and helpful. Smiling faces at every turn. I love to go with family and friends to connect and step back from the non stop hustle.
Transports you back in time. It's not just good tea It's a whole experience. I absolutely love this place!
A tea experience to be had. Extraordinary treats, fantastic tea and a magnificent atmosphere all rolled into one unassuming locale. The staff is courteous and cheerful and the tearoom hosts everything from common seatings for tea all the way up to murder mystery events and masquerade balls.
Originally found out about this place when my two friends took me for my birthday. So I decided I would call and schedule a nice ,late, anniversary brunch with my husband. The weekend was already booked and that is with a three days in advance notice, which I'm glad that they are staying busy. So we went ahead and set it up for Tuesday.
The experience was very pleasant from when I got the reservation scheduled ,to when we arrived this morning. Your greeted by a pleasant staff member at the front door that checks you in. Their shop is very neat and tidy to look around. We were then greeted by another staff member who is a hostess that make sure we got to our seats. The gentleman that escorted us to our table was very kind.
We sat down at our table that was nicely decorated with some rose petals, ribbon and a sign that said 'happy anniversary Chris and Nicole', which they do these kind gestures if you do mention it on the reservation.
Our server was training another gal and they both were very professional, personable, and excelled great customer service.
The food was amazing and went right along with the theme of Harry Potter.
My husband and I both enjoyed ourselves even with him being a tactical type, manly, man.
Had a wonderful tea time, themed Harry Potter. Plenty of guests were dressed up with Wizarding World finest, and the staff seemed to enjoy seeing the different ways people arrived, such as pointed hats, robes, House scarves, and wands. The food and teas were all fantastic, we had an 11 year old with us who tried everything and enjoyed it all commenting and asking questions about the dishes and teas. The staff did very well handling her questions and helping us with finding out if there was any pineapple in one of the treats. We all had a fabulous time, and would love to repeat this theme again.
Absolutely love this place on every level! I've been loyal to the tea room since they opened and I enjoy sharing this experience with the uninitiated. It is simply the most unique and satisfying thing you can do with your clothes on in Albuquerque.
Get your reservation in blood! They have no idea how to please a customer, staff needs to be re-trained to learn how to take reservations! My advice DO NOT GO! Staff is ignorant in service. It was supposed to be a special day for me and my family. We drove 45 mins. To take my father who is in stage 4 cancer and undergoing chemo, we thought this would cheer him up. NOT!!! They lost our reservation and said they could do nothing about it! I called a week ahead and did everything on my part but the staff couldn't do their job so unfortunately we didn't get service and they lost us as customers and I will do my best to spread the word about their poor professionalism!
Wonderful experience with my 5 year old granddaughter and my mother. We all loved the food, the tea and the excellent service. The gluten free foods were delicious as were the non-gluten free. What a treat!
The St. James tea room is definitely a local gem! Your first impression when brought these delicious finger foods is that it's not going to be enough, but I've been here a handful of times and every time I leave stuffed! Their teas are delicious and their staff is delightful. The experience you get here is worth every penny.
A Dream experience! We went for the Anne of Green Gables event. It was lovely and so fun. The only negative thing I can say is that it was a bit warm in there, but otherwise lovely. The staff were all so cute and helpful, and I love their period uniforms. The food and the herbal tea were amazing, though don't expect to have tons of food. It's a tea, after all. The price is not cheap, but I had a wonderful experience with my daughter. I loved ever minute of it. Every mother should take her daughter, dress up and do the whole experience. Also, they have hats you can use while your there to increase the experience. Fun! And the Easter Basket tea was delicious!
St. James is one of my absolute favorite places in Albuquerque. The atmosphere is absolutely charming and the food is magnificent! The are open for afternoon/evening tea, and occasionally host events. The events are always well facilitated and extremely comfortable. The menu and teas served change every month, so the food is never repetitive or dull. The tea shop itself has a great variety of teas and is always very well stocked. The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable of the events, menu, and teas.
