Sad to see this once great hotel is such shape.
Never go inside.doesnt appear to have consistent hours. Everytime were in the mood to go. The restruant/bar always has chairs upside down on the tables visible from the road, appearing to be closed., we always end up going elsewhere.
A wonderful, comfortable, and historic hotel, with warm and welcoming staff.
Awesome location right off the Alabama river. Built in 1837, this a really neat historical hotel. You can see the bridge where Dr King marched. Staff is nice and polite. Food is great!
Enjoyed my visits here. Didn't stay in hotel but visited lounge several times. Food was always great, the chef did excellent job, everyone friendly. Am sad St. James no longer offering food, loved their rib eye steak & was looking forward to trying their luncheon. Very few good eating establishments in Selma.
Had a wonderful stay back in july 2015.
Friendly staff, had a wonderful meal and a talk with the girls who was working that night.
After that we had a walk around town and got our picture taken for the Selma Newspaper. Wonderful hotel, historic and cozy rooms.
Very cheap for what you get.
Beautiful old hotel. Great rooms, with modern bathrooms. The location is spectacular for those interested in exploring the history of Selma, particularly the Civil Rights movement.
