I had taken my child in very lethargic. Without a pediatric specialist they had to send us to their forest village campus by ambulance. It was very icy that day. They stabilized my baby and got her safe and ready for travel. Even without a pediatric specialist they did very well with my 1 year old. We were seen immediately and they did a fast and safe transport to another hospital that had the tools to help my daughter. Its nice to see they are well prepared for these kinds of emergencies. Not all hospitals specialize in everything. But even not they were amazing at getting her to the right place fast.
I have learned one important thing Don't always believe the reviews on Google. Spotsy Regional took excellent care of my father when he had a severe medical emergency. He received top notch care and the Emergency department was very proactive in his treatment. Great hospital and excellent staff.
If I could give this hospital 0 stars, I would. They didn’t even have me in a room. The lady that took my blood seemed like she had no clue what she was doing, resulting in my blood literally spraying all over everywhere. She didn’t flush out the IV afterwards until I literally told her she probably should do that. The doctors were pretty rude and if they didn’t like an answer to their question, they got cocky and degrading. They’ve asked how I would pay the bill numerous times when they did nothing. No diagnosis or anything. So I went to culpeper hospital and it turns out I had a gastrointestinal hemorrhage and the Tylenol they gave me made it worse. I would definitely not trust your loved ones in the hands of this place.
I came to this facility on a weekday early in the morning in a snowstorm. I never go to the E.R. and this was my second visit to one in less than 24 hours.
I had visited a different local Emergency Department the night before, but still I had increasing concerns about my health, potential life-threatening infection, and worsening symptoms.
Immediately I felt that I was in capable, skillful, and caring hands as Brandi the nurse and Dr. Howard's patient.
Honestly, I hardly ever leave public reviews (negative or positive unless they are truly warranted). My experience was nothing but professional, courteous, and efficient.
I hope the following, short PSA can help to negate some of the negative reviews:
*If you are waiting in the waiting room for 'hours and hours' guess what? That's a good thing. It means that people are more sick than you. This may sound insensitive, but it IS a good thing. Emergency Departments do not and absolutely could not function if they operated with guaranteed wait times. You can't schedule saving lives.
The ER sucks! We were waiting for 2 hours and we wouldn't have gotten seen if we hadn't complained to someone. I WILL NEVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. I'LL DRIVE 50 MILES OUT OF THE WAY AND WOULD BE SCEEN QUICKER!!!!!
I arrived at the ER at 3 pm on a Saturday with numbness in my left arm and hand, slight dizziness/ light headedness, and a bit disoriented. I feared I may be having a stroke.
The ER staff promptly took me to the back and began checking my vitals, running test etc. They could not have been anymore friendly, kind, caring or professional. I even got to speak with a Neurologist via video call. (Pretty cool.) The rooms were very clean and organized. No complaints here. Luckily, it was just a false alarm for me on that day. If I ever have to go back to an ER (hopefully not anytime soon, no offense) I definitely hope that it will be at this hospital. Keep up the good work gang, it's much appreciated.
Was in such bad pain I could barely move and couldn't sleep so I went in at 3 am the doctor and nurse came in quickly and saw me but I felt as if they thought I was lying about my pain. And it took them 4 hours to get a X-ray and prove my pain wasnt fake. I'm not one to go to the er unless absolutely needed and they completely ruined it for me back to self medicating
Absolutely horrible hospital!!!!! If you or your loved one need immediate care find an alternative!!!! I never write reviews but truly felt compelled so that nobody else has a bad experience. Positive: The ER Doctor was pleasant, attentive, and efficient. Nurses (both in ER and on floor) are efficient and kind (with an exception of a night agency nurse who butchered my mother with the IV and catheter). After 3 days (so far) of my mother's stay we have seen 3 different doctors a total of 5 minutes. Each orders tests and then nothing ever happens. Ironically both of my folks ended up in the hospital at the same time and the absence of a doctor was present with both. The physician parking lot had 2 cars in the parking lot at one given time! If you have a real emergency avoid this place! I can't stress this enough!
If there was an option to put negative stars I would! I went to this ER two days after having surgery with complications. Was put in a room within an hour. Waited a total of three hours and not one nurse or doctor saw me other than the one that did my IV and took blood in an office room! By the time a paramedic fill-in nurse acknowledged my existence, my condition was unbearable! The nurse/paramedic got some of my medicine and set it outside the door to my room. I could literally see it! 30-40 minutes go by and nothing or no-one! I got up,barely being able to walk after surgery, and went to a desk and had them take out my IV and left! This hospital is horrible and a joke just like Mary Washington! Sad I had a little bit of hope for proper treatment when this hospital was established.
Lisha on the admitting staff & the nurse (Jackie), and PA, (Micki), in ER were very helpful, efficient & friendly, (especially for 1:30am!). They saw us right away, took our concerns seriously & were professional. The ER staff was kind, courteous & helpful. The paramedic, (Andrew), explained the treatment that was needed & made sure we were ok before being released. Couldn't have gone any better for an emergency!
Physical therapy is great here in the medical arts pegonia building. If you are looking to give birth, choose Mary Washington completely renovated and the staff are fantastic
Great they bought my mom in by ambulance the staff was great. The rooms where clean . way better experience here than mary warshington hospital the staff there not caring at all. I will continue to come to this hospital in the future.
We were treated quickly. The staff was attentive and listened to our concerns. The respiratory therapist in the ER kept me from a meltdown by listening and preparing me for what to expect. Also offered me advice for the future.
